Hotel 3 Sterne Superior & Restaurant Schwarzer Adler — Restaurant in Uttenreuth (VGem)

Good for take-out only! Our recent visit to this supposed 3-star restaurant was a huge disappointment. While the food remains absolutely outstanding, the service and, more so, the ambience was so bottomless that one can only recommend take-out food at best. We had made a reservation in the morning for a table for two to celebrate an important milestone in our lives. Upon arrival, our table was occupied, and we were seated at a ‘table’ with three dishes in a large hall that strongly resembled a cross between a community center and kindergarten gym, equipped with folding tables and cheap chairs. The first waiter wanted to confirm that we had pre-ordered goose which he had not. After our food order, another waiter came with two geese, again confusing us obviously with another party. In contrast, our food was only partially delivered despite the waiter having written down our order. There was at least half an hour between the soup and the entree, making one further wonder about the lack of communication between the personnel and the kitchen. When communicating these insufficiencies to our waiter, his response was that we had only made the reservation in the morning as if this was a legitimate excuse to be punished with ignorance. Long story short, the service was less than mediocre and does not allow recommending this overrated establishment if you look for a high-quality...

I visited Schwarzer Alder on 18th Sept 2025 reaching there at 19:50 hrs as I had planned on meeting up with a friend who was coming from NRW. On reaching the hotel entrance a very unfriendly girl just confronted me and asked what I wanted-when mentioned that i want a table for two she made me stand at the door while she went to check and sent out another lady out who again asked me the same question and then without batting an eyelid informed me that the kitchen is closed!! I said what at 8 pm you close the kitchen although it says 9 pm in the homepage. I asked if i cud get something small to eat atleast---she said the cooks have left...at 8 pm...Gosh...they didnt offer me to stay and have a drink ...evn while i waited for my friend....i was so bugged that I decided to leave and not come back...

zum 1.Mal haben wir uns mit unseren Töchtern zu einem Silvestermenü in den Schwarzen Adler nach Uttenreuth getraut - und das nun sicherlich nicht zum letzten Mal. Jeder Gast wurde persönlich vom Inhaber begrüßt und zu seinem Platz begleitet im sehr feierlich eingerichteten, stilvollen Festsaal. Als Aperitif gab es einen leckeren Schampus mit Hibikusblüten, gefolgt von einem Gruß aus der Küche mit Ziegenfrischkäsecreme. Auch wenn wir im Vorfeld keine Freunde von Gänsestopfleber waren müssen wir sagen, daß diese sehr geschmackvoll in einer Mandelcreme mit Feigen und Balsamico zubereitet und serviert wurde und wir diese wieder Erwarten genossen haben. Der absolute Knaller des Abends (wie alle anderen Gänge eigentlich auch) - war aber das aufservierte Thunfisch Tataki (siehe auch Bild). Für den Geschmacksgaumen der Hammer in einer leichten Hibiskus-Sabayone-Creme, Thunfisch angeröstet mit einem Getreide Risotto und eine Rote Beete Pastinake - Wahnsinn - bitte künftig in die normale Karte aufnehmen, soweit dies noch nicht der Fall ist. Zum Verdauen gab es danach ein grünes Apfel Tonic Sorbet (Zitrone mit Minze), bevor es dann abschliessend ein butterweiches, zartrosafarbenes argentinisches Rinderfilet an einer Kakao-Soße und Erbsencreme auf Möhren geschmort gab. Als grandiosen Abschluß gab es auch für unsere Töchter mit 6 und 9 Jahren eine für das Auge sehr lieblich als auch geschmackvoll angerichtete Pistazien-Cremeschnitte, auf der ein Himbeersorbet angerichtet war von einem Pistazienbisquit umrandet. Alles in einem - inkl. dem empfohlenem Portugiesischem Rotwein - ein unvergesslicher Silvesterabend mit tollem, sehr aufmerksamen und netten Service - einer hervorragenden - unseres Erachtens Sterne-Küche wie auch einer Wohlfühlatmosphäre dem Anlaß entsprechend es nicht hätte besser sein können - sehr herzlich. Wir können den Besuch des Schwarzen Adlers ganz klar weiter empfehlen - natürlich auch für Besucher außerhalb der Region, die sich mal ein leckeres Menü oder Essen gönnen wollen in einem tollen Ambiente mit hervorragender Küche und sehr aufmerksamen Service.
