Kommodore — Restaurant in Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Friedrichshafen

Upgrading my review. Took a chance and ate a second time and we had a different server. Excellent service and again the food was excellent. We vacationed all across Switzerland for a week and stayed and ate at six different places in Friedrichshafen for over a week. My wife and I felt that the Kommodore had the best food out of all the places we ate at. Highly recommend this restaurant.

First off let me say the food was excellent. That being sais we had a waitress who we tried translating with asking for food. She was not very pleasant and was very rude after we finished our meal, she asked us if we were finished and we said yes, but it tool 30 minutes before I could catch her and politely ask for the check. Her look/response she gave me was very rude. It is the first time in my life since I also worked as a waiter over 30 years ago that I never left a tip. There was a another waiter, young man, who spoke English and was very polite and professional. Look, I get it, she might have been nervous because she could not speak English, and she was very busy and was probably stressed; However, we were using Google translate for specific ordering questions and we were taking our time when communicating with her. As a waiter/waitress it is your job to add value for the customers by providing a service that makes the customer feel good about spending money at a restaurant for special occasions or when on vacation (customers are escaping busy work lives and want to have a good experience). So this waitress needs to do better or maybe rethink the line of work she is in and maybe switch to another job where she does not have to interact...
