Landgasthof Zum Hasen — Restaurant in Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Kleinwallstadt

After booking this hotel on Booking.com a few weeks ago for a trip from the UK to Germany for the Euros, our experience was nothing short of a nightmare. We were scheduled to check in yesterday, but upon arrival, we faced an unbelievable situation.

Despite having a confirmed reservation for four people, the two women at the hotel (the bar lady and the manager, I believe) refused us entry. Initially, they claimed they hadn't received our booking from Booking.com. Then they changed their story, stating that the reservation was only for two people. We showed them our email confirmation, which clearly stated four guests, including breakfast. They reluctantly accepted this after seeing the email.

However, things took a turn for the worse when they tried to charge us double the amount and insisted we wouldn't be getting breakfast, despite it being included in our booking confirmation. When we showed them the confirmation again, the manager rudely pushed my phone away and refused to speak English, continuously shouting "no, no" at us.

Their behavior was shockingly rude and unprofessional. They were yelling at us in German, and their treatment was especially appalling considering we had a disabled guest with us. We left the hotel within 20 minutes of this heated argument, feeling completely disrespected and mistreated.

This was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I strongly advise anyone to avoid this place at all costs. The staff's attitude was unacceptable, and their refusal to honor our confirmed reservation and provide basic courtesy was outrageous. Definitely do...

I have seen the other rating for this hotel - which said that this hotel is not useful for business travellers. I am not sure how somebody could come to such a conclusion. Agreed, if you like anonymous chain hotels with hundreds of rooms you are absolutely wrong here. This hotel has only 6 rooms and they are just lovely.||||My company is 5km away from this hotel - I have probably stayed at any hotel in the region and this hotel is so far the best one. I stayed in room 4 and paid 130 EUR incl. breakfast - so certainly not cheap.||||What I liked||- Warm welcome, everybody was prepared. My name was known all the time during the stay and everybody was very friendly||- Large rooms, probably the largest ones I have seen so far||||What I liked||- Spacious rooms is a mix of modern style and an old building (see my pictures)||- Well equipped bath room||- Very modern style large oversize bed with a firm but excellent mattress||- High quality and delicious food in the attached restaurant.||- Free WiFi and good speed||- Clean and quiet - very cozy||- Hotel situated in a pedestrian area and near the river Main. Very romantic.||||What I did not like||- no parking in front of the building but since it is in the middle of a pedestrian area you can stop if front for check-in. There are plenty of parking spots in about 100m distance.||||I can absolutely recommend staying here if you want a special hotel and don´t mind the family type small character...
