Oh Mother — Restaurant in Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Schwäbisch Gmünd

We’ve visited OH Mother three times now, drawn in by its beautiful ambiance, friendly staff, and cozy atmosphere. It’s truly a lovely place to sit and relax, which kept us coming back.

However, we’ve been consistently disappointed by the food and drinks. On our latest visit, my husband ordered a chai latte and a bagel, while I had a matcha latte and a brownie. The bagel was okay, but the chai latte was very watery, and the matcha latte lacked any matcha flavor—it tasted more like warm water than anything else. Sadly, the brownie was dry, crumbly, and far from moist—it kept falling apart.

We really wanted to love this café, and we gave it multiple chances, but after three visits, it’s clear the food and drinks need serious improvement. We still adore the people and the setting, but in our opinion, it’s currently not worth it for the menu offerings. Pictures...

I've had better experiences at Oh Mother in the past. The staff seemed very stressed on this day. One harassed looking waitress didn't help guide a decision for someone with allergies in fact was just unhelpful and unfriendly.

We waited a long time for our order. When it finally came my coffee was lukewarm and the foam had collapsed and it tasted burnt.

As I say, it's been better on other days, maybe it just was one of those days, staff illness or some other difficulty.

Even so, staff can learn to be more approachable and to communicate with customers better and apologise for poor service.

I truly dislike being treated like an inconvenience by staff.

Ein richtig schönes Cafe-Erlebnis! Ich war am 24.04.2024 dort und hatte eine richtig gute Zeit bei Oh Mother. Bestellt habe ich mir einen Pink Latte und einen Schoko-Cheescake. Positiv möchte ich anmerken, dass ich es echt cool finde, dass es neben den "klassischen" Latte Varianten (mit Sirup) eben auch sowas wie eine Pink Latte angeboten wird. Zudem gab es eine große Auswahl an pflanzlicher Mich (Hafer, Soja, Kokos, etc.) Auch das schätze ich sehr. Die Kuchen, hab ich mir sagen lassen, sind alle mit Dinkelmehl gebacken. So sind auch Menschen mit einer Glutenunverträglichkeiten hier bestens aufgehoben. Der Kuchen war auch by the way richtig saftig und lecker und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis angemessen. Allgemein hat das Café einen Vibe der Willkommenskultur: Das Ambiente ist mit Liebe zum Detail gestaltet, das Personal sehr freundlich und die Gäste divers (jung, alt, mit Kindern jeglichen Alters, etc.), offen und tolerant. Auch für einen Wickeltisch sowie Windeln und Hygieneprodukten ist auf der Toilette gesorgt. Top! Bei meinem nächsten Besuch in Schwäbisch Gmünd komme ich definitiv...
