All you can order instead of a buffet (corona pandemic)

There have been many positive reviews of this place pre-covid - I wanted to share my experience from today, the 28.05.2020 - less than 1 week after Chinakrone reopened for business.

Today was the first time my wife and I went out for dinner since the lockdown started. We loved this place before corona and when we saw on their website that they were open again with an all you can eat system that you order from a menu we were determined to try it.

The restaurant was not very busy at all, it almost felt eerie at first. The tables and bathrooms were sparkling clean. The staff were wearing facemasks and insisted that customers do so whenever not sitting at their tables. Every other table was marked out not to be occupied so as to guarantee a safe distance between the tables

The food was served with carts and the staff was careful to avoid any contamination by moving too much between tables or by carrying empty plates from another table while seeing to us.

The staff was super friendly and welcoming. It was actually quite pleasant to experience this place in such a calm atmosphere.

The food was just as good it was last year. The portion sizes were adequate and the fruit seemed fresher and tastier than I remember them from last time.

I know that an all you can eat buffet seems to be the last place you'd want to eat during a pandemic, but my impression was that eating here is just as safe or unsafe as any normal restaurant - possibly safer, considering the spaciousness of the place, which really allows for adequate...

Used to be really good, it’s still okay, but I find that we eat there less and less.

It seems the quality is drastically different from one visit to the other. Very often things are wrong with the order or it just doesn’t taste so good. It’s like a hit and miss anymore.

Also the wantan really went downhill. It used to be pretty good and I’m sure there was filling in the wantan. But the last many times I have ordered there, the wantans have came empty, with no filling…so if you’re expecting some kind of filling in your wantan, be aware that it’s probably just going to be fried wantan wrappers… you can seriously get better and more wantan from the frozen section of the grocery store!

Chinakrone used to be one of my favorite places to eat, but the last visits really changed my opinion of the place. So I had to change my review from...

We been going there for years. Always great, eating in or takeaway. today we got a bottle of plum liquor 200ml, not sure if special promotion but a nice extra :) Message to the China Krone Chefs: Please do not thin out your peanut sauce, we picked up two crispy ducks, veggie with peanut sauce (16.90€) . First time meal was not 100% satisfying :(. sauce was very watery. Normally sauce is thick and full flavor of peanut. But not today:( Your veggies where perfectly prepared really good. Duck was delicious as always:) Shame it was a special occasion and sauce was not to your delicious standard that we used too, hope this was a one off disappointment.

Looking forward to our next visit or pickup and 100% satisfaction.
