DANGER for people with allergies!!!!
Do not enter this establishment without your epi-pens!!
My friend asked for an alternative sauce to her dish because she explained her peanut and sesame allergy and said she did not have her epi-pen with her. The waiter swore there was neither peanut nor sesame in the sauce (which was a lie) and convinced my friend to get the regular sauce (demonic).
After a couple of bites, my friend told the waiter she was feeling sick and asked for the ingredients. He did not take her seriously and would not tell her the ingredients, swore again that it was without peanuts and sesame (lies).
Fast-forward thirty minutes, we left the restaurant and had to call an ambulance because she had thrown up and her throat was closing up.
A day later my friend finds out the sauce contained both, sesame AND peanuts.
HOW is this possible??????? The complete and utter disrespect from that waiter, not taking a life-threatening allergy seriously despite being told multiple times!!!
Stay away from this restaurant if you have any allgery issues! The food is tasty and I really appreciate the plant-based options which makes the absolute audacity of the service even more disappointing. The same waiter also did not shy away from making racist jokes about japanese people which just contributed to a perfect recipe for a uniquely flabbergasting...
Read moreEvery once in a while, you walk into a restaurant and feel that someone actually cared. Tokygon is one of those rare cases. The interior is a romanticised version of rural Vietnamese architecture — not authentic, of course, but beautiful in its own way, a kind of dreamscape of wood, lanterns, and atmosphere. It works.
The staff are warm, attentive, and friendly without overdoing it. Service flows smoothly, never rushed, never sluggish. And the food? It really does what the name promises: it carries you from Tokyo to Saigon in a single sitting.
My wife and I had sushi and the Tokygon fasting menu. Both were absolutely fantastic — carefully prepared, full of flavor, and presented with the kind of precision and care that makes you realise you’re not just “eating Asian,” you’re experiencing a deliberate culinary journey. A family menu with fish instead of only vegetarian or meat options would be a very welcome addition to the already strong concept.
Five stars, without hesitation. We’ll be back — and next time, I’ll bring an even...
Read moreThe ambiance was nice, but the waiter who greeted us was bad. We walked in at 14:30 without a reservation, the restaurant has. A few guest but not full at all, at the door the waiter asked if we have a reservation, when he heard “no” immediately he said “ next time please call first, so I asked “ don’t you have any walk in guest “? and he said “ that I can plan better”! Excuse me! I have never met any so arrogant waiter, the food was also not authentic, nor Japanese or Vietnamese, since we are from Asia, we know what are the authentic Asian cuisine. It’s a place will not go back again, service and food both do not...
