One Corner Garden — Restaurant in Accra

Tonight was our 4th or 5th time visiting and we are unfortunately always a bit disappointed. The good is OK and cool price. The cocktails need a refresh as some of them are not that nice. The outside area is really cool and under the right manager this Place could be amazing. Our waitress was lovely but obviously a little green (absolutely fine, everyone is for some time). An incident occurred which meant over half a meal and a third of a drink were not able to be Consumed (not due to anything we did). At the end of the meal the bill still showed it all as full price. We mentioned to the waitress we would like a reduction due to the incident. She went and spoke to her manager and it made it clear where the issues with this venue are. He not only refused to give any money off (fine sometimes it has to be done), he didn't even attempt to come and apologise at all but even worse than that he reminded the waitress to make sure we covered the mobile money fees. It does not take someone with even a little bit of kindness to understand that as a manager you should come over and say sorry, ask how the rest of the meal was and also to not force the patrons to pay extra for fees. Its very basic hospitality knowledge. This venue could be great under management who care about the customers and are passionate about the work. Unfortunately while that man is still managing I don't see how the poor team below him will be able to develop into successful hospitality workers.

This is my honest review. I stayed at the guest house for two nights. Thete was step free access to the room which was great as I'm disabled and I often have problems with using the stairs. This place is not luxurious but its clean and has everything that you need. The bed was too hard for me and made my back pain worse, also the pillows had a strange smell. Otherwise the room was good. The guest house service was five stars, they helped out with every request that I had and I'm extremely thankful for all their assistance. The bar is a lovely hideaway, well thought out with a natural vibe. On the first night my friend got some water from the bar and had asked for cold water? the waitress was rude and seemed upset she gave him warm water twice and thst put me off esting at the restaurant. Food was tasty, fruit juice was fresh and delicious. I tried the lager beer that's made from cassava, it is good in between a Corona and Heineken lol. The host was polite. Only discrepancy was a side of avocado was ordered, it didn't come out but was on the bill. When it was addressed and asked to be removed the host said it's a new system and they can't take it off so let them bring the avocado. We declined because who's gonna have avocado without the meal, and it's not something that'll last until the next morning and lastly its 5 cedis for a side order, when you can get a whole one for about 1 cedis.
