The front desk personnel need serious training in Customer service- they're plain rude and always have a scowl. You try to even prompt them to at least smile and they look at you like ' just place your order and get out'.

I called to order food and the guy who picked up sounded so disinterested. All his answers to my questions were 'errr, I don't know'. I therefore decided to drive there and place the order and again, the rude lady was there.( Somehow, she's d one I always met when i go there in person) I placed my order, made payment and she said it'd take 20 minutes so i told her I'd wait in the car.

After about 30 minutes, I'd still not received my food so I called and the disinterested guy picked up. I registered my displeasure by telling him the food had delayed and that as I'd meetings, I'll be grateful if they could please hurry up. He retorted by telling me ' Eiii Madam, we also have things to do here so your food isn't ready'

I then heard him ask the rude lady 'if my order was ready as I was complaining that it had delayed'. The lady then blurts out 'na )no, )ba ha time b€n a )b€ ma pressure? To wit ' what time did I even show up there to come and put pressure on them? Hmm

After a few minutes, the disinterested guy ( fair in complexion) shows up with my food.

I'm so so so disappointed...

Will I come back? For now, nahhh. I'm done...

UPDATE

I’m truly humbled by the fact that Reggie, Zilla [co-owners) and Francis (the Manager) reached out. I totally appreciate the gesture; I pray your business grows from strength to strength. As agreed, I’ll definitely come back. God...

Rockz Waakye is a culinary gem nestled in the bustling city of Accra, offering a premium twist on Ghana’s beloved waakye dish. Founded by legendary Hiplife pioneer Reggie Rockstone and his wife, Dr. Zilla Limann, the restaurant has quickly grown into a cultural and gastronomic hotspot. With its perfect blend of traditional Ghanaian flavors and modern flair, Rockz Waakye elevates the simple rice-and-beans combo into a rich, unforgettable meal—served on banana leaves with a wide variety of tasty sides like salad, gari, eggs, spaghetti, and flavorful meats or fish. Their signature coconut oil shito adds a bold and unique touch that keeps patrons coming back.

The atmosphere is just as inviting, with a design that reflects Ghana’s vibrant spirit and a staff that makes every guest feel at home. Live music and occasional events add to the experience, making it more than just a place to eat—it’s a celebration of Ghanaian culture. Conveniently located at the Accra Tourist Information Centre, with additional branches in East Legon and Cantonments, and 24-hour service on weekends, Rockz Waakye is accessible and accommodating. Delivery through Glovo ensures you can enjoy their mouthwatering dishes anytime, anywhere. Whether you’re a waakye lover or a first-timer, Rockz Waakye delivers a dining experience that’s truly next...

Formerly Rockstone’s Office, owned by a Ghanaian rap legend and grandfather of hiplife music in Ghana Reggie Rockstone; ran and operated together with his wife, Zilla.

The waakye here is remarkably consistent and great tasting. Their Uniquely Selling Proposition is the flavor of the accompanying Shito (black pepper sauce) which is fried in coconut 🥥 oil. Over 3 decades ago in the 90’s Waakye was primarily sold with Shito fried in coconut oil but over the years, that type of oil has become less popular, and relatively more expensive.

I think they envisioned this as a night food joint for folks out partying late and needing sustenance.

The only downside for me is the music. I’m not a fan of ultra loud music in small spaces. It’s a Ghanaian thing, and I hate it. I can’t dine in there because of how loud it gets. Folks with small voices like mine can’t have decent conversation while dining there.

The ambience is pretty upbeat. Traditional cauldrons housing the food with digital payments and vintage pictures of the owners of the business and celebrities. Got some Jamaican vibe to it too.

I eat from them multiple times a week…often my go to place after midnight. Highly...
