Piece Athens — Restaurant in Athens

I usually don’t take photos of food because I prefer to be fully in the moment — but this café has truly made my days while traveling in Athens from Japan, so I wanted to express my appreciation and love through this review.

I took some photos recently, though they don’t capture everything I’ve enjoyed here!

I’ve had breakfast here every single day during my stay in Athens.

Their menu is fascinating, and everything is homemade by Maria, the beautiful and kind owner.

As someone from Japan, I’ve been excited to try so many new Greek treats — traditional cakes, breakfasts, yogurt and coffee, and lots of Maria’s delicious homemade sweets!

The atmosphere is natural, fresh, and full of love — the perfect way to start a new day.

The staff are also incredibly kind and friendly. Thank you, Mario and Alexandra, for your warm and charming hospitality every morning.

I’ll be visiting again...

High quality coffee and healthy brunch. Digital nomad friendly with chill low-volume music and lot of sockets to charge your pc while working. Super clean, soft bright color decoration and very sunlit, since most of the outer construction is with glass instead of walls. Has also some tables outside on the pavement. Desserts such us apple crumble are made in store and are fresh. Good for both, takeaway or dine-in....

Επισκέφθηκα το μαγαζί για πρωινό και παρήγγειλα τα Eggs Benedict με σολομό (τιμή 9,50 €), επειδή είχα δει τη φωτογραφία του ίδιου του καταστήματος στο Google. Η φωτογραφία έδειχνε ένα πιάτο με γενναία ποσότητα σολομού, σωστό layering και πλούσια σος — ειλικρινά δελεαστικό.

Όταν όμως ήρθε το πιάτο, απογοητεύτηκα. Ο σολομός ήταν σχεδόν ανύπαρκτος — τρεις μικρές, λεπτές φετούλες που ούτε καν κάλυπταν το ψωμάκι, πόσο μάλλον να “ξεχειλίζουν” όπως στη φωτογραφία. Η ποσότητα και η παρουσίαση καμία σχέση με αυτό που προβάλλεται.

Ανέφερα ευγενικά το θέμα στην υπεύθυνη και μου απάντησε ότι “στις φωτογραφίσεις είναι πάντα αλλιώς”. Αυτό όμως είναι λάθος — ως άτομο που ασχολούμαι επαγγελματικά με τα social media, γνωρίζω ότι στις φωτογραφίες μπορεί να φαίνονται πιο φωτεινά τα χρώματα ή πιο προσεγμένη η λήψη, όχι όμως να αλλάζει η ποσότητα ή η σύσταση του προϊόντος.

Το φαγητό ήταν μεν γευστικό, αλλά η αναντιστοιχία με τη φωτογραφία είναι ξεκάθαρη και αποτελεί παραπλανητική παρουσίαση προϊόντος. Όταν πληρώνεις σχεδόν 10 € για ένα πιάτο, περιμένεις να πάρεις αυτό που σου δείχνουν.
