To Kountouroudi — Restaurant in Chios Municipality

My wife and I cannot say enough good things about this amazing restaurant! We would have given it 20 stars if we could. This restaurant is a hidden gem that is located off the beaten path and needs to become known by everyone visiting this gorgeous island. The ambience and the service were great. But, the food was just over the top exceptional. Everything that we ate was based on local products, and local traditional Greek/Chios menu items, but with a refreshing spin that they put in the taste of each dish. We absolutely loved the mushroom appetizer (that is a spin on gyro), the orzo with beef and the grilled chicken fillets with their version of olive oil/lemon sauce. They ended the meal with a gift dessert of refreshing carob cream & almond crumble with a sweet quince on top. Very elegant tastes that created an unforgettable end to our wonderful trip to this beautiful island. If you are in Chios, this is a necessary restaurant choice...

We love greek food very much but at times it can be heavy on your stomach. Went on a vacation to Greece and visited many restaurants (also recommended by local friends). Only after eating in this restaurant my stomach went back to normal again. Finally I was able to fully enjoy greek experience. The dishes are a new, refreshing approach in greek kitchen and with a great success I'll say. Very flavours and light meals that just makes you feel happy while eating them. About the atmosphere - nice little cute and cosy place. It's a bit hidden in the city centre which makes it even more romantic and for us better since we don't like to sit with crowds. People are very kind and funny, always ready to give you good recommendations. You just feel like you are good taken care of. Yorumlara güvenerek grup olarak gittik, fakat yorumlarda anlatıldığı gibi beklentimizi maalesef karşılamadı. Cumartesi günü saat 20.30 gibi restorandaydık fakat gittiğimizde bizden başka masa yoktu.haftasonu canlı müzik olduğunu okumuştum diğer yorumlarda fakat o da yoktu. Yine yorumlarda Beğenilen pancarlı mezeyi deneyelim bari dedik menü de vardı fakat onu da yapamayacaklarını olmadığını söylediler…sonuçta lokal bir Yunan restoranına gidiyoruz ve lokal lezzetler tatmak isteriz değil mi? En basitinden Greek Salad istedik ama o da yoktu ! Sebebini de şöyle açıkladı kadın garson;kış ayındayız kışın domates salatalık kullanmıyoruz dedi başta kabul edilebilir bir gerekçe gibi gelse de söylediğimiz tzaki(Yunan cacığı) içinde salatalık vardı :) şimdi bu ne perhiz bu ne lahana turşusu :D sonrasında masayı ciddi donattık 8/9 çeşit söyledik gelen ekmek sayısı 4 adet bizde 4 kişiyiz ve ekmek boyutu ufak bir taş parçası kadar sanırım çapı 3/4 cm var yoktu(ekmek lezzetliydi ve sıcaktı buna kesinlikle eleştirim yok) fakat minicikti tekrar ekmek istediğimizde ki;2. Ekmek 1. İle beraber 1 ekmek yapmaz ebat olarak yine kadın garson şöyle dedi; ekmeklerimizi lokal köylerde yaptırıyoruz çok özel ekmekler ve sayıyla geliyor ekmek BİTTİ dedi tabi biz şaşkınız…nasıl olabilir dedim o ekmekten değil de market tipi ekmekten getirin o halde çünkü masa dolusu tabak tabak meze var ve ekmek yok ayrıca ücreti ne ise yansıtın sorun değil öderiz diye de ekledim yine ekmeğin bittiğini ve o ekmek dışında normal ekmek olmadığını ve getiremeyeceğini söyledi garson hanımefendi oldukça şaşırdık, üzüldük ve saçma bulduk biz de hayretler içinde çatallaya çatallaya mezelerle doymaya çalıştık bu arada başka masalar geldi bu masalara sepet sepet ekmek gitti (utanmadılar da bize bu cevabı verirken hangi ekmek bitmişti demek istedik ama susmayı tercih ettik) EDEP SEN NE GÜZEL ŞEYSİN ;) ayrıca kızarmış kalamar istememe rağmen sirkeli ahtapot getirdi (siparişleri karıştırmaz bizim masadan başka masası yoktu biz yemek yerken) bu restoranı ben buldum ve hiç de anlatıldığı gibi bulmadım hiçbir şekilde memnun kalmadık .üzülerek ...
