As a starter we wanted to eat seasonal greens, but without feta as it says on the menu, because one of us doesn't eat cheese. So we asked our waiter to take away the feta and add some tzatiziki instead, but he immediately said no. He argued that these cannot be mixed. We tried to explain that we don't mean that everything will be mixed up, but no success. So we also ordered tzatziki. When our tzatziki came, I thought, I'm in the wrong movie, that can't be true, two spoonfuls of it, which costs 6 euros. I looked at my wife and then started laughing. It didn't even taste like tzatziki, because it tasted "very modern with black garlic" somehow... So far, it has been a total disappointment for me to have chosen this restaurant. Then our main courses arrived, Mageirio and Giouvetsi. These were so delicious that we forgot everything we had previously complained about. Still, you have to see the big picture. Would I go there again? I do...
Read moreFor me the best restaurant in Armenistis, we were there 4 times in a 12day spanning holidays.
The main dishes are very well prepared and have a modern twist on the traditional greek cuisine. The diafragma steak especially was delicious.
In comparison to the other restaurants in the village it is more expensive but in my opinion well worth it. Main dishes range from 15-20 Euros (except the steaks and fresh fish). Portion size is good.
We always got a little desert for free (usually some ice cream) which is a nice touch and alltough i know of that custom from other islands it was the only restaurant we found on Ikaria that offered this.
When you want to pay you shouldn't be in a hurry there the traditional greek relaxdness kicked in...
Read moreThis is the restaurant I ate at the most often during my 3-week stay on the island because it had not only the most creative and delicious recipes, the staff will spoil you with their hospitality. My favorite things to eat were the calamari with wild rice, grouper, and wild greens. Also every soup I tried was phenomenal. They also have super fast wifi which made it helpful for me to do meetings from there during the day when the restaurant wasn’t crowded. The team was super nice about that. That won’t be an option during peak tourist season in August though lol. Also, this is one of the few places that’s delicious and open for lunch. Can’t wait to come back again next year! Thank you...
