Frontzou Politia Restaurant — Restaurant in Ioannina Municipality

This place is absolutely amazing. The food was great, no empty plates here with friends. This is the area’s fine dining choice, it’s the most upscale you can get; just keep that in mind of your come here and still see patrons in super relaxed casual attire, because that’s just how Europe goes. The mountain top location gives the best views for the area, very picturesque and you’ll be taking lots of pics with the scenic background. All the dishes are pic taking worthy. It’s a nice relaxing place. Keep in mind that there are several places that border this restaurant, we were hearing a children’s recital from an amphitheater behind us, and afterwards there was live Greek music, possibly a wedding or some celebratory event. There’s also a casual cafe in the front area, and a separate playground for children which there’s a minor entrance fee (not part of the restaurant). This is a must go to restaurant. You can even make reservations online with them. I believe it’s the best steak to be had...

Hotel Frontzu Politia is a kind of a beauty gem. The ancient style stone structure, together with colorful flower pots, gives it a special beauty. It is located on the edge of a wooded hill and the first thing that captures your eye when you sit in the restaurant, or the cafe bar is the stunning view of the city of Ioannina and the beautiful lake with the picturesque mountains around. The place is named after Konstantinos Frontzos, the mayor of Ioannina, who was the one who came up with the wonderful vision, to establish in the 60s, a touristic site, in this unique location, which includes a hotel, restaurant, cafe bar and amphitheater. The statue of Frontzos, made of brass and stone, is located in front of the building. Small yet great hotel! We took two family rooms which where very big. In one room we had large bed for the parents, two beds for the older kids, and two cribs for the toddlers, and still had space to play. Comfortable beds, parking very close, family room on ground floor made it an easy access for the young kids. Big terrace for them to run along in. Strong AC (no windows in the family room but don’t let it scare you. It is not claustrophobic). Great breakfast, great view, lounge bar that are very popular among the locals and serve fine food and drinks. Great atmosphere, fair prices, big playground free for the hotel guests.
