We had a family room with 1 double and 2 single beds, for a 1 night stop over, before getting the ferry the following day to Corfu. Excellent breakfast included. Very economical. When I booked on line I mistakenly thought it was a 2 room suite. In hindsight for a family of 4 with 2 teenagers, 2 seperate rooms are better but as it was only for a night it was fine. For a longer stay, the family room would be good with young children. ||||This is not a normal hotel, but it's lovely. Very good service throughout. The rooms are in a former, small monastery. The reception in another building offers coffee and there's a charming breakfast room in yet another building. Very clean, well decorated, traditional northern Greek style rooms with wood and stone, and a fireplace. Would be great in the winter too. Ample parking across from a large, open and safe expanse, right in front of the rooms. I didn't like our bathroom.||||The area around the hotel is a resort style complex that has a superb restaurant with stunning views across Ioannina and the lake. There's also a cafe/bar with music and another large cafe/ play area with inflatables for families with young children. The land is expansive so no part intrudes on the other. There's a huge amount of organized, free parking available.||||This is a great place for families. Lovely in the summer. The restaurant is...

Read moreI do not often leave negative reviews, but have to do this in this case. The staff of the hotel was nice, especially the chef who was making breakfast. But I had to cancel my booking of five days after the first evening spent at Frontzu Politia. The hotel is a complex made out of several buildings. The rooms are in one separate building and have a motel like entrance - you enter the doors from one shared common open "hall" which is on the ground floor, far from reception and completely open to parks and parking that can be easily entered by anyone. This made me feel very unsafe as the door dividing me from the outside was a regular basic door... somewhere around 2 in the morning the stray dogs which are many in the neighbourhood (the hotel is on a hill above the city not in the city itself) started barking, very close to my door, fighting and choking some smaller animal all together. This rampage which was extremely loud left me sleepless. I unfortunately cannot recommend this hotel, especially not to the solo female travelers like myself, who also might feel very unsafe there. If you are travelling with someone and especially by car, then this place...
