Me and my partner were staying in Frikes for a couple of days and one night near the closing of the restaurant we went in to get a bottle of water as it was scarce at the time, the manager without second thought gave it to us without even asking for money. The next day we went and sat at a table, the waiter kindly informed us that some of the dishes were sold out as it was near the end of the day. We ordered two exceptional dishes, one of them was Lamp Fillet with Garlic Sauce and the other was Rib Eye with Chimichurri Sauce (I ordered Medium Rare). As a Greek with foreign relations I understand that for some people Lamp meat might be challenging to consume because of the strong taste and texture, but this Lamb will please the pickiest of eaters, the Seasonings combined with the Garlic sauce was the perfect combination to bring out an elegant taste of lamb, but even without the sauce this dish brought back childhood memories. Even though Lamb Meat can sometimes be a bit chewy the perfectly sliced fillet guarantees a smooth texture. The Rib Eye was cooked to a perfect Medium Rare and combined with the Chimichurri was an easy 10/10. Both dishes were served with a large amount of freshly cooked French Fries. Even if I didn't explore the vastness of their menu I can see the care for every single dish. I highly suggest you pair your courses with a Fine Wine and don't be afraid to ask the waiters for anything, they are more than willing to give you the best experience. The bill was 52 euros, I know it might seem a lot for some but I believe for this quality and care for the food the price is non negotiable. I know for a fact I will be...

If your idea of Greek food is calamari and souvlaki, you need to beat a path to Ageri. Chef patron Vassilli is passionate about food and this is reflected in an innovative menu that is nothing short of a delight,

We had two lunches and an evening meal here. One lunch was spent with two friends and we had a meze from the starters on the menu. All except one dish, village sausage, was fish and Vassilli said the sausage was wrong. We went ahead and he was right.

For an evening meal with the same friends, we asked Vassilli to choose what we ate and he did not disappoint. Among the dishes was a hot greens salad, smoked eel, the inevitable but tasty calamari, anchovies on bruschetta and grilled octopus.

On the previous visits, we also enjoyed a unique beetroot and apple mousse salad which was out of this world. Also recommended is the local speciality of savoro, a fish dish with vinegar and raisins. It sounds odd but is well worth a try,

Vassili has now got a new head chef so he is now front of house and ably assisted by knowledgeable and very friendly staff.

My wife and I have been going to Greece individually and together for a total of around 80 years and this is one of the finest places to eat we have experienced. To call it a taverna would be under-selling the quality of the food....

I have been a loyal customer of Ageri Restaurant on Ithaki Island, visiting with my family every year. It used to be our favorite spot on the island, largely because of the incredible and friendly service provided by our beloved waitress, Natasha. However, our recent experience was disappointing as Natasha was no longer working there.

This year, the service was handled by two different individuals, and it was a stark contrast. The service we received was cold, distant, and inattentive. The male waiter, in particular, displayed a level of arrogance and entitlement that left a sour taste in our mouths. It felt like we were an inconvenience to him, and his attitude was bossy and unpleasant.

Throughout our travels on the island, we have never encountered such a poor and arrogant attitude towards customers. The only saving grace was the food, which was decent enough to prevent us from giving just one star.

If you value friendly and authentic customer service, I would recommend exploring other restaurants on the island, as we won't be...

Lovely place on the front. We ordered a Greek salad and large beers which came late ke the Germans like it. The meal was nice enough. It came with 2 bits of black bread that would break your teeth. They look like the had been burnt on purpose. We asked what it was and the waitress said bread so we soldiered on by putting them at the bottom of the salad so they got to a consistency where you could clamp your teeth through. If you like yummy black burnt crispbread you'll be fine. Someone told us later it was probably Cretan bread. Prices were good. We had no condiments so asked for some olive oil and received a small bottle. We didn't realize until the bill came that we got charged 1.20 for the oil. For that reason we were a bit cheesed off. The view was the only saving grace.

Best dinner of the week and we ate out every night. Fresh calamari, roasted sardines, seafood tagliatelle with a hint of ouzo, seared tuna (with particularly delicious creamed beetroot which I could have eaten a lot more of), mushroom orzotto: all lovely and beautifully presented. Highly recommend this place
