Farina - Κουντουριώτου — Restaurant in Kalamaria Municipality

My daughter has nut allergy and we specifically said no nuts and no Nutella or merenda (i.e. no praline as it contains hazelnut) . When our daughter ate the cake (which was for her brother's birthday) she had a reaction. When we called the place they told us that the cake had no nuts but when pushed further and he called the pastry chef they said that their chocolate mousse did in fact contain praline.

Even though the guy at the store said he is sorry when a supervisor responded to our message he said that it did not contain praline even though we did spot it. Moreover the supervisor was unapologetic and tried to shut the conversation down. This behaviour from a food professional is appalling. Food allergies are life threatening and this completely irresponsible behaviour is what leads to severe and life...

Great atmosphere and great service!! The staff is always polite and helpful - only comment is the too elaborate menu that offers over complicated recipes in an unbalanced set of choices. For example they are unwilling to make simple omelets while everything on the menu is quite complicated and from the choices I tried I can say as a preference they don’t hit the mark- too many ingredients all in all!! Sometimes simple is best or at least offer one or two simple dishes for some of its customers how hard can it be to offer a two egg omelette with one or two toppings! To end on a positive note - the place is always clean...

Farina Casa was our favorite brunch spot, bakery and dessert spot during our one-month stay in the summer of 22 not only in Kalamaria but in whole Thessaloniki. I went back again in 2023 and still nothing beats their tsureki, which is a soft pillow of deliciousness that immediately took me back to my childhood in Kadiköy with its beautiful mastic flavor and shaved almonds on top. They just don't make them this good in Turkey anymore. Also, the staff is without an exception, always, just extremely friendly and nice.
