This is a fantastic place to eat, but not to be served. Like other places around the area of Kalamaria you get to be in a very casual and relaxing spot.
The food in Imvros deserves a solid 4, maybe 5. Your order arrives fast, the food tastes amazing, and the quality of all products used is evident! Congrats to the kitchen staff and many apologies for what is about to follow...
The reason I'm giving Imvros a 2 is because the serving staff is at the very least rude, not to say aggressive and lacking in manners. Just because someone asks you if you got part of an order you quickly scribbled down and then stopped us from ordering more because you thought it was enough, doesn't mean they are asking to complain about it; we were simply asking to see if you wrote it down. Also, and because you were unlucky enough to serve people who already work in the food service industry, you had the nerve to talk back and snap to the lady of the table because she asked for an extra sauce you didn't write down in the first place.
In addition to that, the servers picked a verbal fight we 3 more tables around us in a period of 2 hours, one of which was because they brought the wrong brand of a drink with the lame excuse "don't worry, it's exactly the same."
Out of the 3 servers we saw that day only a young kid was all over the place always smiling and always remembering exactly who, what, and when to serve. Very courteous and extremely helpful. For the other two of you, who also happen to work there for years, you should be ashamed for being the sole reason this place...
Read moreAuthentic Greek restaurant. Last weekend we (two families with kids) visited this restaurant for a luch. Two seniors were playing guitars and singing, creating great atmosphere. At first waiter was friendly, until he discovered we are from Croatia. He said we can order only fish and chips. So, we did. For kids we took three portions of meat balls. He brought the chips first. We ordered chips for another round, he said he will bring it. But, he didn’t. Half an hour later he brought two portions of meatballs for kids, instead of three, Expaining that he does not have enough of meat for the third portion. He asked us why did we choose to come to Greece and visit their restaurant. We tried to explain all beauties of Greece, people and culture we experienced so far. He added that he does not understand why are we comeing to the place where our enemies are?!?! Then he explained that Serbians are there. We said we do not have enemies, do not hate anyone and do not live in the past. He went inside talking to someone over the phone. He returned back, asking us to translate song of the Croatian singer Thompson. He was obvoiusly instructed to do so.
Fish was ok. Desert was ok. Restaurant not clean. People in the restaurant were all Greeks, and they interacted with us and we enjoyed it. However, a week after I am still remembering the bitter taste because of the waiter. Maybe I should have said that part of our group were Serbians, and than we would be able to choose that wonderfull food that was offered to other people...
Read moreThe cocky waiters were rude! They ran out of wine after we called to inquire whether they had red wine.! Of course I realize it’s a seafood taverna, then they should just have turned away our reservation. The waiter said “either you order now , because I am busy and I won’t be able to take your order for half an hour” I specifically requested that they not bring the food all at once and they did the opposite. It’s too bad because I had welcomed going back after several years since it’s in the neighborhood. How easy is it for them to be nice!? Apparently they are indifferent whether one patronizes...
