AVOID!! ONLY GO HERE FOR A DRINK NOT A MEAL - Having spent several wonderful evenings enjoying great food, service and stunning scenery at restaurants at Afitos and Pefkohori along the Kassandra coast (see other reviews) I searched for others and found what looked like potentially the best yet in Villa Stasa, a seafood restaurant and bar that cascades down a rocky cliff over the sea with a stunning sunset and coloured lights after dark that create a magical atmosphere. What a wonderfully romantic place to take my fiancée I thought. Unfortunately the reality does not match the expectation! I had called to reserve a table two days ago but on arriving was shown to an “inside” table that meant one of us had to sit with our back to the view and instead look at the kitchen. I asked about all the empty tables around the outside of the restaurant that had “reserved” on them but was told they were for people who had made reservations and explaining we also had a reservation, which the waiter found in the book, didn’t make any difference and we settled on our allocated table, me consoling myself that at least my fiancée could enjoy the view out to sea and determined not to let this spoil the evening. For the rest of our visit we were made to feel that we weren’t welcome while the staff lavished attention on the tables of Greek families and couples around us. We waited ages for our order to be taken and while enjoying our starters the waiter returned with our main courses and side dishes! He wasn’t at all happy that I showed him we were only half way through our starters, never mind the fact that our small table for two didn’t have any space to put more dishes even if it would have been ok to let our food go cold on the table! He took the tray away muttering very loudly in Greek so I asked the manager if he thought this was acceptable and sought reassurance that they wouldn’t just keep it warm which he gave. When the mains were brought back out later they were clearly the same dishes presented before, with now over cooked fish and seafood as well as rubbery fries. We ate what we could asked for the bill and left.
There is no doubt the location is absolutely stunning but the restaurant is to be avoided at all cost. At all the other restaurants we have visited there was care for both us as customers as well as for the food and we were made to feel welcome and looked after with charming warmth and hospitality. Villa Stasa takes its visitors for granted and cares even less for their food.
Save yourself the disappointment, walk past this poor excuse for a restaurant and down the steps to the bar on the water, where the staff smile and welcome you, serve you a nice drink while you drink in the...

See .... …. The interior is not distinguished by something very remarkable, you have the feeling that you are in a canteen; …. I have already mentioned the beautiful view to the sea; …. The tables are not located on a terrace, as it appears in the photos in the Google profile, but the room has wide open windows ; …. Ceiling paintings; …. The octopus mayonnaise is colored black with octopus ink - it looked impressive! …. Plates in a very nice turquoise blue.
Feel …. …. Good service; …. The delicate texture of the sea urchin appetizer, spread on a crispy toast. Be sure to add a lemon and accompany it with a nice local wine. I personally prefer blends with Assyrtiko and other varieties to add flavor to his strict temperament. …. The prices of fresh fish are more or less the same as the other restaurants on the leg - from 55 to 105 euros.
Hear …. …. Whether there was music, I cannot say for sure, because there were people and noise in the restaurant; …. Our waiter tried to express a few courtesies in Bulgarian.
Smell .... …. The sweet aroma of achinos; To understand what achinos is, visit the blog placescases.com and read the the detailed review about Villa Stasa. …. Oregano, I mention it in all descriptions of Greek dishes, because it is always present - they put it on octopus, mackerel (smoked mackerel, grilled, served with olive oil, oregano, garlic and lemon), potatoes, fish….
Taste .... …. Fresh fish – they have good variety; …. Baked halloumi with jam- hard cheese, grilled and with a little sweet-wonderful wine appetizer !; …. Fresh fish is wonderful! - Somehow they make it so that inside it is very tender, outside with a crispy crust; …. The salads are delicious, so is the octopus, the shrimp, the mackerel - everything we tried was good; …. Very nice desserts - there was a cream pie, which was excellent, with a very fine cream, there were also profiteroles. Read moreWe had a very bad experience. We arrived exactly on time for our reservation, 5 minutes early actually. They gave us the wrong table, we reserved one in the first row, and we were seated second. Said nothing much, I mean it’s no big deal. We waited for 30 minutes before anyone came to take our order and after finally a waiter cared to come by, he acted very rude. Came on strongly rolling his eyes and the whole energy wrong, felt like we were bothering him. Anyways, we ordered a few dishes, asked him if he could also bring us a menu for dessert and if he minded us keeping one menu for drinks. After we finished ordering he informed us, meaning rudely pointing at the back of the menu, scolding us, that there is a minimum spend of 30 euro per person, and we did not order enough, and why did we not check the back of the menu where that is written. The minimum spend was perfectly fine by us, but I told him that this type of information could also be passed by whoever makes the reservation on the phone. Also we had just asked him for the menu for cocktails and dessert, and told him we will order as the night goes… 🙆🏻♀️. He kept being sassy and rude, I was already fed up and I pointed out that waiting half an hour for the order is not decent, the fact that they gave us the wrong table and we said basically nothing, and suggested a shift in his attitude… that basically got us thrown out of the restaurant. He point blank told me “if you don’t like to wait, you can go” and picked up the menu from my hands. Obviously we got up immediately, and left, GLADLY and civilized Mind you, I am used with all kinds of restaurants, from the 50 euros per dish to these ones, spending 30 euros per person is more than reasonable, I hate, deeply hate being a nuisance, I find kindness to staff to be highly important and not once did I cause a scene or raised my voice. The view is beautiful… but it’s Greece, you find a nice view and good food at every corner. Don’t know about their dishes (we didn’t get at that point 😂😂) but the service was atrocious at best and that just ruins...
