So far, day 5 of 7, the best restaurant on Lemnos. (The food was 5-star, but due to my wish for pizza and preference on amount of garlic in tzatziki I cant rate it higher than 4)
A cheerful and friendly waitress showed us to a table and the hospitality was very clear. Greek men was playing card games and backgammon at the tables and it gave a good, autentic greek vibe.
The menu was variable and intriguing. I was really looking forward to pizza, and the options were many. Unfortunately they didnt serve pizza until 1700. I ordered meatloaf with cheese and pepper, and the others ordered pastitsio. I also ordered a frappe, which the waitress was particular on how I wanted it. We ordered a tzatziki aswell.
The portions was big, and the size was more like a dinner than lunch. The meatloaf was really, REALLY good - juicy and flavorful! It was served with cooked potatoes which was a nice break from all the fries. The frappe was also good. The only minus about the food was a bit dry bread, and the tzatziki could have a bit more garlic (but that is my preference).
All-in-all a place you must stop at and enjoy if you are in the area, and I could also recommend to take the trip even if you stay on the other...
Read moreWould've been 5 stars if it wasn't for the overcooked overspiced steak that was probably cooked couple of days before but the chef decided the public to get acquainted with his masterpiece later. Still scratching my head how this dish was allowed out of the kitchen. Note to all visitors, if you guys are visiting during the weekdays, stick to the pizza. The staff was totally helpful humble and apologetic which is the reason why I won't be downvoting. Matter of fact, the waitress seemed so stressed that in the end I wanted to hug her (didn't, she's a professional doing her job) PS To the staff: If you guys are reading this I'm sorry if I came out like a bad person (I want to believe I'm not) but I was just stating the obvious, the steak was uneatable. Εντελώς καλοπροαίρετα μην βγάζετε πιάτο που μαγειρεύτηκε το Σαββάτο,...
Read moreThe atmosphere and the location are nice, the food on the other is more of a mixed bag. Depending on what you order you might get, either a great local dish or a dish with three cheap ingredients and no seasoning whatsoever. The Pizza, as pizza usually is, is not for everyone; in mine the cheese was half the height, the dough lacked salt (or taste) and was too thin while the crust was too thick for it's lack of taste, and finally the tomato sauce tasted more like tomato paste (too thick, concentrated and sour), overpowering everything else whenever you encountered a slither of it. The chicken was a lot better and the rice was decent too! Prices were great as everywhere Overall a decent experience but it could use some...
