Kalypso Restaurant — Restaurant in Lipsi Municipality

This is a restaurant which you will not find everywhere in Greece. The kitchen is delicious, portions are enough for 2, prices reasonable, the service kind and efficient. The neighbour yacht has adviced this place to us. we first looked to the fish inside the fridge and booked a table.reservation adviced. the seagrass is well boiled, the grilled fish not dry juicy, the fried zucchini stripes with parmigiano cheese very tasty. several times they asked if there is anything we want .they have collected the empty plates after the meal was finished which is not usual in this land. even a sweet dish was offered after the meal. a guy is working during the day as a fee collector from the yachts at the pier and after this he works at the restaurant as a waiter, speaks pretty good english. quite surprised with all and very pleased.definitely will come again.keep it...

Una delle peggiori esperienze che abbiamo subito in un ristorante. Da dodici anni viviamo in Grecia per oltre 6 mesi l'anno girando in barca per l'Egeo e, quando si parla di "taverne", abbiamo sviluppato una certa capacità di giudizio. Siamo arrivati qualche minuto prima delle 18h:00' ed ho chiesto se si potesse mangiare a quell'ora (avevamo navigato). In Grecia alcune strutture servono i pasti a qualsiasi ora del pomeriggio. Ci hanno risposto di sì, così ho chiesto una birra ed abbiamo cominciato a leggere il menù. Sorseggiando abbiamo scelto cosa avremmo mangiato ma nessuno veniva mai a prendere l'ordinazione. Dopo un tempo interminabile, la cameriera è venuta ad informarci che la cucina era ormai chiusa (aveva ricevuto l'ordine da un signore di mezza età che non sappiamo chi fosse). Abbiamo allora chiesto a che ora avrebbero riaperto per la sera: mi è stato risposto alle 19h:00'. Abbiamo deciso quindi di aspettare (mancava meno di un'ora). Curiosamente però, per quasi mezz'ora, continuavano a portare pietanze ai tre tavoli occupati oltre al nostro. Allora mi sono alzato ed ho chiesto cortesemente se sarebbe stato possibile nell'attesa avere un piatto pronto, le acciughe marinate con del pane. Mi hanno risposto affermativamente ed hanno portato subito il pane... Ma delle acciughe neanche l'ombra. Il tempo passava ed anche la cameriera andava su e giù per i tavoli intorno a noi rassettando per la sera senza degnarci di uno sguardo. Alla fine abbiamo capito che avremmo dovuto aspettare le ore 19:00. Giunto l'orario, la cameriera si è presentata per prendere l'ordinazione. Abbiamo confermato la richiesta delle alici marinate chiedendo anche un piatto di fiori di zucca. Con grandissima sorpresa, ci hanno detto che le alici non le avevano... Le abbiamo aspettate per quasi un'ora! Mia moglie, che voleva le alici, ha rinunciato con dispiacere ed ha ordinato quindi solo dei fiori di zucca. Io ho ordinato per me un souvlaki di pollo e patate in insalata per contorno. A questo punto la cameriera è andata in cucina ed è tornata dicendoci che le patate, se le avessi volute, c'erano solo fritte mentre i fiori di zucca non c'erano proprio. Ho pagato la birra e siamo andati a cenare in un altro ristorante. Un tale disprezzo nei confronti del cliente non lo avevo mai...

I came here early to beat the rush. First choice not available stuffed goat (apparently the chefs speciality) so had goat from the oven and fried cheese to start. Food served very quickly. Mediocre quality double carbs and no veg. The place filled up completely and the poor waiters didn’t know what to do!!! I waited and waited for my bill. Guests were being turned away I was ready to go so a table could be freed. I went to the bar and asked for my bill, again the staff simply couldn’t cope I asked again and again.
