We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this authentic Greek taverna. The rooster was simply outstanding – slow-cooked to perfection, tender, rich in flavor, and served in a traditional tomato-based sauce with fried potatoes. One of the best I've ever had in Greece.

The eggplant salad was also a standout – smoky, creamy, and full of depth, clearly made fresh and with care. Every bite felt like something a Greek yiayia would make at home.

The service was exceptional – warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, without being intrusive.

Prices were very fair for the quality, with generous portions that left us full and happy.

If you're looking for real Greek food in a relaxed, friendly setting, this place is not to be missed. Highly...

Amazing meal here this week while on holiday!

We spoke to some locals in town who recommended we eat here and it did not disappoint!

We ordered the spicy cream cheese, tzatziki, salad and a chicken souvlaki. For 2 it was way too much food BUT everything was delicious. The dips were both amazing and the salad had a lovely variety of very fresh vegetables. The chicken souvlaki was extremely tasty too! We couldn't have been happier with our meal and it was priced really well too.

The gentleman who seated and served us was wonderful too. It was a hot day so he sat us somewhere covered and with a breeze. He was chatty and friendly without being imposing. The restaurant has a lovely homely feeling to it too.

I can highly recommend it...

Right at the start of the pedestrian/shopping street, under the big plane tree, you’ll find a local taverna that’s absolutely worth a stop. Service is quick, atmosphere is relaxed (despite the small size), and the food is excellent value — noticeably cheaper than the coastal spots.

The chicken souvlaki was clearly marinated ahead of time, tender and flavorful. I tried horta (boiled wild greens with olive oil) — astringent, but in a good, distinctive way. The dakos was wonderful: a crisp barley rusk topped with fresh tomato, olive oil, herbs, and feta-like cheese. Classic Crete on a plate.

Highly recommend for a simple but...
