Visited here today on the way back to our apartment. It is in a lovely location overlooking the fountain and town. Unfortunately the service wasn't great. It was extremely slow even by greek standards. The waitress then got our order incorrect, and one of the party ended up watching the others eat their meals. None of the meals came out together, and we had nearly 5 minutes between the ones that hadn't been forgotten. By the time the last meal came out, the person had gone over hungry, and this ruined the whole visit for us. Read moreWe drove from Arkadi monastery to Spili. Great drive through the mountains. Spili centre really is a picturesque location. It was bustling but not overly busy. Platia tavern has the top location. Great view over the town. Service very friendly, atmosphere positive and food superb! My wife had the Cretan spinach pies, fried. Really nice and I had the Apaki Saganaki! Wow. Great flavours. Not too much ( first I thought a bit small but that's not the case). Read moreVisited on a cold early april day, just the second day of the season when all the shops are just starting to open. Yet we were treated in the most perfect way. The coffee was wonderful - so smooth and so mild tasting, served with little piece of unusual but tasty sweet. We absolutely loved the pastries with cheese served with honey and cinamon and our son enjoyed freshly prepared waffle. As soon as we sat down one of the workers brought and turned on the heater lamp, although we said that we were there only for coffee - we couldn’t have been treated better!...
