The New Kid on the Block in Sellia, Crete
Kuneno is the latest addition to the vibrant dining scene in Sellia, having opened just a year ago. Located right in the heart of the village, this restaurant offers casual dining at its best.
Kuneno provides a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for any meal of the day.
Erini and Nikos, the owners, are not only the driving force behind Kuneno but also work both behind and in front of the scenes. Their friendly and welcoming nature, along with their attentive staff, ensures a fun dining experience.
The food at Kuneno is consistently good, ranging from casual dining options to delicious Cretan dishes. They offer a good selection of beers and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
While they currently do not offer desserts, the hope is to have them available next year. In the meantime, their drink selection, especially the local beers, is excellent.
Open seven days a week, Kuneno offers good casual food at reasonable prices. It's a fantastic addition to Sellia's dining options, and we look forward to seeing what they have in store...

This place just opened by a lovely young couple, Irini and Nikos, we found it with my family by chance after asking around in the area. We had GREAT food and enjoyed the hospitality a lot!
They have their own meat (coming from a family of shepherds) and the food is very fresh. I highly recommend you ask them for the “casserole” dishes of the day (μαγειρευτά). I was lucky to get a rare dish - liver “stifado”. I never eat liver in restaurants but I got it because it was from one of their own animals. It was a treat!
My godfather asked for burger patties (μπιφτέκια) and they too were from their family raised beef, made by Irini. I tried and they were delicious although she used very little seasoning.
Irini’s mum made us loukoumades at the end of our dinner :)
Local products, traditional flavors, great hospitality - we highly recommend it and will be...

The hosts are simply amazing. Eirini went out of her way to make us feel welcome, and the whole place has a genuine, homely feel. Her recommendation of the beef stifado, cooked by her mum, was spot on, how could you not try that? And don’t miss the garlic bread, hands down the best I've ever had.
The food was delicious, the atmosphere warm and relaxed, and we felt right at home. Easily the best hosts we've had in a long time.
Bonus: friendly cats roaming around, adding to the charm. 100% recommended, we will...
