DON'T GO. Quick opinion : absolutely shit. Long opinion : I normally don't write opinions, even if the places are really bad or on the contrary, amazing. However, I feel a responsibility to warn people of this place, and because of its nature, encourage bringing your own food if you happen to go on a guided tour in the vicinity. It's a sorry excuse for a restaurant relying on income generated solely by deals with tour guides. I came with one such group, greeted by staff haphazardly throwing a borderline torn up menu on our table. It's not the only thing which was wrong with it though; the dish names were scribbled and the prices primitively scratched out, with new, significantly higher ones (the originals were still visible), crudely written on top. Before we even had the time to process it, a few pieces of stale, spongy bread was tossed on our table in the same manner. We did end up eating here, as there was simply no alternative. The food came quickly, which was no indicator of a competent service, but instead of the probably days old, reheated food. Me and my friend ordered a moussaka, and the closest equivalent of the atrocity we were served is probably a canned amalgamation of a tomato-less lasagna with a curdled sauce, drenched in cheap oil and reheated in a broken, smoking microwave. Hell, one of my friends didn't even receive her order. Fun fact: the tap water in Greece is NOT drinkable. I'm 99% sure they served us tap water (and in a cracked, plastic just that did not look particularly sanitary). It's taste was stale, and if it weren't for the heat, I wouldn't have even drank a sip of it. As of the time of writing this, I'm fresh out of this diseased place, feeling bloated and sick. The same friend that did not receive her order went to the bathroom. I did not go myself, but she told me of the horrifying filth she encountered. Toilet paper on dirty floors, putrid, rancid smelling toilets, rotting tiles, broken, ususable sinks. If the water we drank was from the same pipes, I can reasonably say I'm scared of what I let into my system. This place is a joke, a waste of money relying on cheap tours and exploiting the lack of alternatives, but, most importantly, a genuine health and safety hazard. I repeat,...
Read moreTerrible experience. I came with a bigger group of foreigners and they gave us a different menu with much higher prices. The menu was just a piece of paper with pen scribbled all over it CLEARLY writing off the earlier prices! The chips were super old and crusty and the moussaka was really flat and oily. The moussaka didnt even have proper bechamel sauce. It was a vile blanket of dense jellylike skinlike mush with uncooked eggplant. Terrible service as well. We were served water in a super old beaten up scratched up PLASTIC jug which they put down very aggressively. My friends ordered the saganaki cheese and they didn’t even bring it to her. Our tour guide definitely had a deal with this restaurant so we had no choice. And she had the nerve to tell us that it was the only one that was „on the way” even though they were prepared and literally had a separate menu in our language for us. Then she started walking around and avoiding the uncomfortable things my friend was saying about the place and its food. And she told us that „all the food is homemade by the old lady in the kitchen”. I do NOT care who its made by and thinking that my opinion on it will change and my sympathy will be earned just because its made by an old lady will NOT earn any respect from me. Whoever is making this food and running this restaurant, i don’t care. A bad restaurant is a bad restaurant. They should just close up by now because this place is worse than my primary afterschool food. All of my friends and i were very dissapointed, which is an understatment anyhow. I dont even know WHY i paid because they literally had a printed copy of a paragraph from the EU on their wall, stating that if the customer doesnt get an invoice or receipt, they are not obliged to pay. We did NOT get a receipt but came up to pay the great amount of money anyways. They are scammers, liars, cheats and a tourist trap. Avoid this place...
Read moreAVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! After we got seated, I immediately noticed the metal spout of the salt shaker we were given had a noticable formation of bright green Chromium Oxide (Hexvalent Chromium is HIGHLY TOXIC if ingested and it can lead to poisoning in adults and developmental issues within children), poisonous substances in our condiments, off to a great start, next, the waiter brings us Water in this chipped and beaten up plastic chalice, the water was had a pungent, undescribable taste, almost as if it was pond water, said water was not drinkable and instead I had to rely on a sealed soft drink for my own safety, next it came to ordering food, my friend ordered a portion of Napoletana Pasta - He instead was served "Bologenese Pasta" which is an overstatement because said dish consisted of pasta with a glob of mincemeat and a literal ladle of store bought tomato sauce on top. Another comrade of mine got a portion of lamb chops which according to him was inedible, consisting of mainly cartilage, sinew and lean fat. I myself ordered a portion of pork souvlaki which was tiny and tasted very cheap. I now genuinely fear for my health after eating in this place. This place is a health hazard which I doubt even has the proper authorization to run. Avoid...
