On June 9th 2019 the canteen owner arranged for a heavy load JCB tractor to come to arguably one of the most beautiful beaches of the island to gather the dried seaweed that had gathered on the beach over the winter months (because dried seaweed must be bad for business, i guess). On a Sunday afternoon, on a day with 60km/hour northern gale winds, which would make the choice of beach even more limited, especially if one has children or mobility issues (as this is one of the most accessible and child friendly beaches on the whole island). When asked how long the JCB would remain on the beach the answer was “a while”. Unacceptable arrangement and attitude from the canteen owner, who clearly gave zero f*cks about ruining the place for the day. No idea about the food there. As the winds blew hard, and all the dried sea weed was ripping onto or skin , we and the other few people were forced to...

Simple cantina by the beach, nice cozy atmosphere. Interestingly better; fresher; and tastier ingredients than many of the other restaurants in the island. The olive oil used in fava and Greek salad is very aromatic. Fava comes with bitter black olives and a touch of salty grape leaves. Tzatziki is very homemade style. Greek salad had very tasty tomatoes, and very good hard old local cheese (not feta). The sunbeds and umbrellas are simple. There’s only one portable WC that has no running water in the faucet. There’s extra cabin to change clothes. Very low phone reception. The beach is shallow, fully sandy, colder than Livadi Beach. For a nice lunch by the beach, I...

This authentic completely unpretentious little place is a gem. Family run with lovely mom and daughters that are very polite and never forget a face. I recommend the traditional “makarounes” which are a local delicacy of pasta stuffed with a local cheese and safran as well as the “kokkinisto katsiki” (goat in tomato sauce). The place is also known for a dish called “Thoma’s dish” which was lovely too. The tzatziki and horiatiki were also very good. A small canteen and a...

Local food and beautiful plates Definitely need to try “the plate of Thomas” As you can see in the photo is meatballs with two eggs and some potatoes The simplicity of the place is the reason that this canteen is so special It goes with the vibe of the island The only thing is that you need is to be patient until you get your food but as we say in Greece “Whoever is harrying up he stumbles”

What you see is a cantine, what you can’t imagine is the tasty dishes, amazingly prepared and served from the polite people who own the place. It was the only restaurant where we enjoyed the traditional goat dish - katsiki -, dakos salad, fava, meat balls -keftedakia- and local white wine ! Strongly recommended !
