Reject the bread … it’s nothing special and for Group of 7 charged 1,50 per person euro for Bread and tomato paste. No olive oil. Had no idea the bread was brought to the table I wasn’t asked. Water bottle 2 euro each We asked for cuddle fish for my seven year old son 9,50 euro. Waitress said it has to soak for two days and it’s only been soaking for one day so she said it would be too salty and she did not recommend. So we thanked her and cancelled the cuddlefish. We were up-sold to the sea bass I asked the price and she said it would not be more than 23 euro for one fish. So we agreed as my 7 year old really wanted fish. The fish was good. We ordered grilled vegetables … they were burnt and overpriced. The fava bean was good. The Greek salad was the smallest portion of Greek salad I have ever seen served,
We were sat by the edge and were eaten alive by mosquitos… There appeared to be a female an employee that was chain smoking and blowing it towards us and our two kids which I understand it’s part of the culture. If it was one or two cigarettes perhaps this is what it is but … the entire meal? By that time the place was getting busy and we had already sat down.
I would not recommend. If you do go here be prepared to pay 5 times the amount you should for bread and 2 euro for a large bottle of water.
Will not return.
View was good but, I was disappointed.
When confronted staff as I wanted to go over the bill they treated me rudely and got very defensive even though I had a charge for the cuddlefish I didn’t understand since we...
Read moreOverall ok, tasty food, but everything could be much better with little effort i believe.
Waiter puts water and bread with red sauce before ordering and it's 1.5€ per person.. but nobody tells you anything. (Not sure but I THINK they put the same stuff on a table of 2 and they were charged 1.5€ euro x2.. we had the same stuff and got charged 1.5€ X4). At least talk to the customer. We asked what's up with the water and bread and waiter said it's already included. My next question: ah so its free? Her: no it's in the menu.
Weird.
Anyway we got : ✅Fried anchovies (9€)
☀️ Small shrimp fried - good but the shrimp come in their shell and you have to spend time rating (9.5€)
✅Marinated anchovies (5€)
❌ Steamed mussels - unusual mustard taste..not for our taste (we usually love mussels)(10€)
🟠 Tzatziki sauce (4€) - one plate enough for 4 people
🟠"Already included" - water & bread (good taste) (6€)
(Hope i remember the prices)
Also we read in previous reviews that at the end of the meal you get free rakia and watermelon..but we didnt.
Waitress was wearing sports bra and short cotton pants.. more appropriate for anything else, except taking orders at a restaurant.
No salt, pepper, napkins on the table.
Again, with very small adjustments it could be a much...
Read moreI'm not sure why this place has gotten so many bad reviews. The food was great, the house wine was great, and the waiter was nice. The view was wonderful as well.
This review has been edited because I went here a 2nd time to test the consistency. It went from a 4 to a 5. The one waiter(didn't get his name) was the same as last time and was just as accommodating as before. Tried different food and it was as tasty as the first time. Where I am from we have a love for "dive" type restaurants. Although that "dive" vibe is prevalent in Chania, I am drawn towards this place. It's near a popular beach but doesn't come off as a tourist spot. The welcoming atmosphere and relaxed attitude is exactly what I would want in a location such as this. I dont need immediate service or the constant "is there anything I can get for you". When I'm by a beach I want to relax, and this place delivers. I will say I can't compare it to other places because I haven't been to too many others yet. But so far this will be my spot when I want to relax.
3rd times a charm. Third and final review. Waited 2 weeks and went back. Different waiter but still great service. Still great wine. Still great food. Highly recommend for a great beach side eatery with a...
