🚨 SCAM ALERT – Animal exploitation and dishonest billing! Avoid this place at all costs. This restaurant engages in unethical and possibly illegal behaviour, both towards wildlife and customers. Here’s what happened to us: • Upon arrival, a man literally jumped in front of our car, trying to block our way to a neighbouring (and much better) restaurant. • We sat down and noticed a wildlife agency sticker on every table clearly stating it is forbidden to feed the turtle. • Moments later, the staff started shouting theatrically to attract attention – “Oh my god! The turtle! Throw her food!” – while the manager and his dnkey apprentice themselves threw a plate of leftover pasta into the water. • They then began calling passersby to come look at their “dog” (yes, they referred to the turtle as a dog), using the animal to lure in more customers. This isn’t just unprofessional – it’s disturbing. Exploiting a wild animal, against local regulations, to create a show for tourists is simply unacceptable. As for the food: uninspired, careless, and easily the worst meal we had in Greece. Even the complimentary “dessert” was just overripe fruit with cinnamon. Just before leaving the apprentice went to a table with 2 German gentleman and tried to lure them to stay longer and order more drinks since their wives already left (for the hotel) suggesting that their wives had “probably gone shopping.” Unprofessional and tone-deaf. To top it all off, they added 20% to our bill without informing us. When we questioned it, the manager made a vague excuse and refunded the extra – clearly hoping we wouldn’t notice. Do yourself a favour and eat literally anywhere else.

We came here for dinner in early June on a weekday. The place was not crowded, which perhaps gave them the time/ attention to give us that bit of extra service! Our host (the place seems to be family run) welcomed us graciously, and after mentioning we were here on our honeymoon, he offered us 2 complimentary glasses of wine on the house. We were keen on the lobster pasta but didn’t think we could finish 1kg between us (which was what was on the menu), and they promptly brought out 2 smaller lobsters (for 600g) and said they’d be happy to charge us pro rata. When the lobster pasta came out, it was massive (very generous with the amount of pasta especially - do see attached picture) - and great value for money. The lobster was very fresh and tasty (the lobster in this region was better than elsewhere we had in Greece) on our trip. They offered us some complimentary melons for dessert, and we were enjoying the ambience so much that we lingered long enough that we managed to spot the sea turtle they called “Soula” who frequently visits. Soula spent a good 30-45min swimming about below us (perhaps persuaded to stay on by the lobster bits and bread the family was feeding them). Seeing a sea turtle this close while we dined was a pretty magical experience, and the cherry on top of what was a really enjoyable meal even before that! I’d recommend Faros Karavostasi Tavern if you’re in the area!

WE ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! We have been here yesterday for dinner, it was already very nice with good food and a lovely owner. We stayed the night with our Camper on their Free parking, it is a perfect place for the night, totally calm just next to the beach. This morning after swimming and using the taverns beach shower, we visited the Tavern again, for a quick Coffee (that was the plan). We ended up beeing there approx. 6 hours. We drank the best Frappe and Freddo Capuccino we had in Greece so far. We played cards, enjoyed the view with a turtle swimming next to us all day and then ordered food in the evening. It was very delicious again, and big portions for a good price. We felt so welcome, more like friends not customers. That is also why we somehow spent the whole day at this lovely place, it was just peaceful and relaxing. Thanks for this perfect Day! THEY ARE OPEN THE WHOLE YEAR! It is not only great for campers like us, you should also visit this place If you want to spent a nice day or evening in a great surrounding and delicious food. ;)
