Our regular canteen for more than 7 years, we came many times every year with friends or family, but this time, we fall into the classical tourist trap: fish is expensive, we are aware of that but there is still something else to eat at a good price. As I was invited to see the "beautiful fresh fishs" to convince me to order one, I asked for the price, 3 times, to be sure of what the boss said. At the end, we were billed at a much more expensive price (55 instead of 35). The boss’s arguments are well prepared and he finally argued there was a misunderstanding. I was confident that the parents and daughters running the tavern know us and don’t try such scam for one-time customer. Very sad. Advice: even if the feeling is good and you think to understand each other, don’t trust what they say, ask for written price. The meal: fish is good (fried anchovies/gavros are little dry), meatballs were better until last year, grilled octopus is often to...
Read moreThe food is good and the place is lovely, but I am really disappointed from the service.
It is unacceptable that a waitress is not able to suggest the right quantity of food based on the portions of the plates they (should) know.
We were two and we ordered two starters and, as main courses, a mix of fried fish and a grilled fish (700gr).
The waitress did not tell us that there were smaller portions of fried fish (she, instead, told us to pick one more complete) and indeed for two people it was too much food (4 people could have eaten with that fried fish).
We spent 87€ which is not the point, but we had to leave half of the fried fishes and we ate as much as we could in order not to waste food.
Waitresses are young girls who don’t know much about the menu and how to handle that kind of situation, when prices are that high it is not a professional way to run...
Read moreWe were disappointed with our visit in September 2024. In previous years we have eaten here and were happy with the experience but there seems to be new owners. The location right by the sea is fantastic but the food not so great. Our meatballs were shocking. Hard tough and unappealing and only a small portion. Chips, which surprisingly were not included with the meal, were undercooked soggy and only just warm. The shrimp saganaki was half decent and the only part of the meal which was acceptable. Service and staff were not great either even though the taverna was empty. We hope things improve as we intend to return to...
