A pleasant restaurant located right by the sea, about 15 minutes from Kokkari. We went on a Sunday around 3:30pm without a reservation and there were plenty of empty tables. Since it also has a beach, it’s an ideal spot for those who want to swim first and then sit down for a meal.
We tried the sun-dried octopus, fried squid, linguine with wild mushrooms, linguine with seafood in white sauce, and the Aiolos salad. They told us the squid was €18 instead of the €15 listed on the menu because it was “fresh today”- which made me question whether the seafood served on other days isn’t fresh. I had never doubted the freshness of seafood in Greece until that moment so it slightly shook my trust:)
Apart from the wild mushroom linguine, none of the dishes really stood out in terms of flavor. As for the sun-dried octopus, it didn’t feel much different compared to the grilled octopus I’ve had elsewhere. Also, the squid and octopus portions were a bit small and didn’t quite justify the price. My favorite was definitely the al dente wild mushroom linguine. Honestly, the best linguine I’ve ever had. Prices are around the Samos average; we paid €95 for...
Read moreThis is a restaurant you absolutely should avoid to visit when you're in Samos. I don't know the owner or manager, but the guy called TANOS loves the money but very disrespectful towards people! He is very arrogant and spoiled person. We were swimming in the sea right in front of the restaurant, and I reserved a table for dinner and wanted to look at the menu in advance. This man, Tanos, got incredibly angry and he said, "Why are you looking at the menu for dinner now?" and angrily threw the menu away while he was swearing in Greeks. He is very rude. Usually he doesn't deal with guests but stay behind the counter. That's why many people thinks this is an OK restaurant. Once you start facing him your thoughts will be reversed straight away. Of course, we canceled our reservation after this happened. His behavior shouldn't be supported! If you still want to come to this restaurant after reading this review, I doubt...
Read morePretentious and overrated. The location is very nice, by the sea and the young staff friendly. The food is nicely presented but the quality is low. I had the dako salad with cherry tomatoes that were completely tasteless, and a quinoa salad that tasted like perfume. My friend had the fish soup that comes with a small fish fillet and was charge the amazing price of 30 euros. When we asked for the bill a waiter came, said by voice the total and pretended to be payed straightforward. When we insisted to see the bill first, a normal thing to ask in every restaurant, the owner came with a very arrogant look and said "we are not thieves" didn't listen and proceeded to insult us in greek. Not only unprofessional, but also ludicrously rude. There are plenty of nice traditional tavernas on the island where the food is actually good, that are not overpriced and where you will be greeted with smiles...
