Taverna Mirto — Restaurant in Municipality of Eastern Samos

On the way to Psili Amos we saw the restaurant and the nice location and we said why not? We had a nice meal with friendly staff. After paying a €43 bill (which was a bit pricey anyway), we asked if we could use their provided sun loungers. To our surprise the owner demanded an extra €8 (€4 each). Only because of the kindness of one of the waiters who explained to the owner that we had eaten there and that it was already 3:00 in the afternoon that she begrudgingly let us pay €4 for the both of us. This was a very disappointing the moment. We had spent all that money to be asked on top of it to pay more for the loungers. This is a difficult time for Samos and it is really not professional or thoughtful trying to rip off your customers when Samos really needs to attracts tourists. Frankly, even if we were not going through difficult times it's still not an acceptable way to treat customers. We were left with the impression of greed and bad manners which is never good in the service industry. What a shame as it is a lovely location, with tasty food and...

I ordered the shrimps and they were overcooked, so dry that it tasted like flour. When I wanted to send back the shrimps, the owner said ”ok I will fix it for you”. He came back a couple mintues later and he had used the same shrimps but just drenched them in oliveoil. Now they were just dry flourtasting shrimps drenched in oliveoil. I sent them back again and the owner got a real bad attitude. Very unprofessional.

He charged for the shrimps too.

Επισκεφθηκαμε πριν λίγες μέρες αυτό το υπέροχο νησί. Όλοι οι άνθρωποι ήταν φιλόξενοι, ευγενεστατοι και πρόθυμοι να σε εξυπηρετήσουν. Δυστυχώς αυτό δεν ισχύει παντού. Δυστυχώς αυτό δεν ισχύει για αυτό το μαγαζί. Κατεβήκαμε από το αυτοκίνητο 2 άτομα από την παρέα μας εκεί με σκοπό να δούμε το μαγαζί και να αποφασίσουμε αν είναι κατάλληλο να απολαύσουμε τον καφέ μας. Αρχίσαμε λοιπόν να περπατάμε προς τις ξαπλώστρες ώστε να αποφασίσουμε τελικα αν και που θα κάτσουμε. Περπατήσαμε λίγο στην αμμουδιά μέχρι να το ζητήσουμε αν και είχαμε εκ των προτέρων καταλήξει σε αυτό. Δεν προλάβαμε να απομακρύνθουμε ούτε 2 μέτρα και ακούσαμε έναν υπάλληλο να φωνάζει. Απαιτούσε να μετακινήσουμε το αμάξι μας από το πάρκινγκ εφόσον θεώρησε ότι δεν θα καθόμασταν και θα προχωρούσαμε στα διπλανά beach bar ( που απείχαν 500 μέτρα). Εκείνη την ώρα κατεβηκε και από το αυτοκίνητο ο τρίτος της παρέας μας. Τότε άρχισε να φωνάζει μια κυρία για τον ίδιο λόγο. Με αγένεια και αδιαλλαξία εξέφραζε τα παράπονα της. Απορθυμοι λοιπόν και οι δύο και ιδιαίτερα η κυρία να συζητήσουν προκάλεσαν μεγάλη ένταση στην ατμόσφαιρα. Και αναρωτιέμαι γιατί τέτοια συμπεριφορά; Κριμα. Κρίμα για έναν τόπο που φημίζεται για την φιλοξενία του και για τους ανθρώπους του που εξάλλου σε αυτούς βασίζεται ο πολιτισμός του να φέρονται έτσι. Ελπίζω όσοι επισκεφθούν αυτό το μαγαζί ( αν και δεν θα το συνιστούσα ) να λάβουν καλύτερη...
