The Raftis is the Greek dining experience I have always been looking for but have not been able to find yet.
In fact, our experience was so good that it reminded me of what it must have felt like when the old gods were feasting on Mount Olympus.
But let me break it down: the ambience is a well maintained garden/orchard with several lime trees and other plants. There is so much space in between each table that you will have absolute privacy.
The food is peak Greek cuisine. Tzatziki variations, meat, fish, everything can be found here. Flavor explosions took place when we tried the dishes which were all freshly made and cooked to perfection.
The service is outstanding and speaks great English. Our orders were taken care of with diligence and speed.
All in all, the Raftis is a real gem in southern Crete. We will come back before our holiday ends and I can't wait for the next round of dishes...

My wifes greek salad three ways was very dissapointing there was a soup (which was OK) but the bread and tomatos was soggy and the actual salad was swimming in oil/water.
