This review is not about the atmosphere and the great food of Nolita but for the excellent staff! We visited with my wife the night before year's eve 2023 and the place was packed. Along with the food, we ordered a bottle of white wine, quite popular in Greece, which we had had before. The waiter suggested that we tasted the wine before serving but we thought that wasn't necessary . It wasn't long after the first sip, when we realized that the wine had gone bad. And then the excellence of the service started to unfold: we called the waiter and informed him about it; after consulting with another member of staff, he immediately came back to our table, apologized and took our glasses and the bottle and informed us that he would bring a new bottle. We kindly asked to see the wine list again in order to get another wine and not the same one. Apparently there was some issue with this batch of the wine because a few minutes later, another bottle was returned from another table because it had also gone bad.
Visiting a restaurant is more than the food; it's a whole experience. The politeness of the staff and how they interact with the guests is certainly a key factor and at Nolita they know how to do it! Great job and thank you...

I am pretty certain that everyone in Athens (and beyond) knows about Nolita and my review is nothing but a small blip in an ocean of raving positive commentary… and yet, the food, atmosphere, service and staff are so ideal that I am adding my 2cents…
Nolita was a recommendation from a local resident in Psihiko. He knew about my love for risotto and fresh pasta from my travels in Italy and swore by the quality of food and overall experience in Nolita.
He was totally and right - and then some more! My little trick is going early for lunch or dinner by Greek standards and then I feel like I can eat everything on the menu without anyone wondering how on Earth is a single person devouring all that food! The risotto, the pasta, the deserts, I don’t know where to start and where to end! Even the bread with salt and oil is to die for.
I have come to understand that this is also quite a popular meeting spot for business lunches and dinners but I don’t need such excuses to visit Nolita!

Read moreGreat service, food is ok. The food is unlikely to be the reason you go to Nolita. The menu is typical Italian fare, executed in a passable way. I have had the Escalope Milanaise several times in the hope that it will have improved as it's one of my favourite dishes but it arrives curled up and looking like it's been deep fried every time. Probably has been. The ambiance, particularly at night is for those who like to be seen, and heard. At lunchtime it's quieter and populated with the mother and kiddy brigade (plus, of course, the ubiquitous nanny - you are in Psihyko after all...)
Restaurants in this spot tend to last a couple of years before closing. Nolita needs to up its food if it is to survive. The service is...
