Disappointing Dining Experience – Not Recommended!
I recently visited this Japanese restaurant in Greece, and unfortunately, it fell far below expectations. The overall experience was very disappointing.
Overhyped Advertising, But the Food Was Subpar The restaurant’s slogan claims, “Sushi is good, but Hōmu is better.” However, the sushi was plain and unremarkable, with average freshness. It certainly didn’t live up to the claim of being “better.”
Shockingly Bad Soups We ordered two soups—salmon soup and mushroom soup—and both were terrible: • The mushroom soup was overly salty and sour, with an odd mix of cheese and scallions floating in it. The taste was so bad that I almost gagged after the first sip. • The salmon soup had a strong fishy smell, making it unappetizing.
No Hot Tea or Warm Water Omission for a Japanese Restaurant . Most Japanese restaurants offer hot tea or at least warm water, as it’s a basic part of the dining experience. However, this place didn’t have either, which felt unprofessional.
Phone Number Required Just to Get a Receipt? To top it all off, they require a phone number just to issue a receipt, which felt unnecessary and inconvenient.
If You’ve Had Real Japanese Food, I Wouldn’t Recommend This Place The food here lacks authenticity, and many details make me question whether the restaurant truly understands Japanese cuisine. If you have experience with real Japanese food, this place will likely disappoint you.
Final Verdict: Not Worth It
Overall, this restaurant is overhyped, serves mediocre food, and offers an unconvincing Japanese dining experience. If you’ve never had Japanese food before, you might find it acceptable, but for anyone who has eaten real Japanese cuisine, this place is simply not worth visiting. Not...
Read moreUnfortunately, despite relying on the relatively high rating, our dining experience at this restaurant was far below average compared to any other place where I’ve had sushi. What they serve here can hardly be called sushi — the amount of rice compared to the fish is completely unreasonable. The taste of the dishes did not resemble sushi at all, and I honestly wasn’t sure what I was eating. The tempura tasted nothing like tempura, the “crab” was definitely not crab, and the nigiri looked more like rice patties with a suspiciously colored thin strip of fish on top.
On top of that, the restrooms were absolutely filthy — worse than in gas stations — everything was dirty and unpleasant. While the staff were friendly and polite, they were very unprofessional: they mixed up our entire order, and we couldn’t tell what we had ordered versus what we received.
Overall, not...
Read moreThe shop allowed customers with three small dogs who were barking most of time we were there. We kindly asked if this could be taken care of but received a reply that they had called earlier asking if they could bring the dogs! As far as I know no animals allowed BY LAW in closed restaurants!! Of course our was denied and the shop management sided with the owners of the dogs. I too am an animal lover and would never take my pet to a restaurant! Why are there always those who think they are above the law!!!! Of course we got up and left with some indecent comments made by the existing customer ! Unacceptable behavior! As far as I am concerned the fault was the shop owner they should never agreed in the...
