Cantina barbeque — Restaurant in Municipality of Ierapetra

Unfortunately a disappointment. The chicken souvlaki that everyone praises is made of cheap chicken thigh meat and dries out on the grill. No smokiness whatsoever. The fries were one of the worst we have tried on the island. Very soggy, not crispy at all and soaked up lots of oil. Did the kitchen have just a bad day? I don’t know Edit after owners fair and professional response: the taste of the chicken souvlaki was actually pretty good, we were just a little bit suprised by the look/size of it. Simplest of choices - Greek salad , souvlaki etc - but perfect quick pitstop - couple of drinks, plate of chips and three chicken souvlaki (€2 each) total €12 what's not to like. Have decided that roadside cafe is that way if cannot feel...

Pire service jusqu’à maintenant en Crète (et même de notre voyage qui a débuté il y a 60 jours!). La dame n’est pas dutout à sa place, aucune expression faciale, aucune salutation, en fait le service est pratiquement muet. Nous avions l’air de déranger, nous n’avons pas été à l’aise à cet endroit. Pourtant nous sommes des gens très « friendly » et peu exigeants.

Vu le nombre de commentaires positifs nous avons été surpris de ne pas aimer la nourriture… nous avons mangé des souvlaki plusieurs fois en Grèce et n’avons pas aimé ceux ci. La texture était étrange et huileuse.

Bref, ce n’est pas un endroit que je recommande. Avec une bonne expérience client la nourriture aurait peut être...
