I live locally, and in terms of service and attention to detail, there really is nothing like this place in the area. Every tiny detail has been catered to, including bespoke plates with the shop's logo printed on them, tubes and mushroom details incorporated in the decor from the video game, the overalls the staff wear which are also printed on the delivery bags!

We had a wonderful meal here recently, the focaccia was especially good (we couldn't stop eating it) and is made in-house, as are the fresh pastas and the pizzas which are tossed in the air (kids especially love this trick!) The one flaw in the food, which others have mentioned, is that it's really very salty to the point of being at the absolute limit of how salty it can be for consumption. Mention this before ordering if you prefer less salt, you can always add more. Portions of the starters, main meals and desserts are all quite generous, so you won't leave here hungry, quite the opposite.

The space is step-free so wheelchair accessible, a great plus for me and my family as one of our kids is a wheelchair user. The waiter when introducing themselves (Hi Thomas!) asks for any diet considerations - we didn't have any, but it's nice to know that the offer is made without having to ask. The wine list is extensive and dispensed with a funky little gadget that is entertaining for grown-ups to watch while the kids enjoy the pizza dough being thrown. An Italian restaurant that is trying to convince itself and its customers that is "fine dining". I don't want to be misunderstood so I need to clarify that the restaurant serves decent pasta, excellent wood-fire baked pizza and decent deserts. However if the restaurant wants to live up to the experience it is trying to sell, it should improve many of its aspects. First and foremost the service is extremely casual, slow and definitely not trained or able to enhance the customer's experience. By the time a restaurant charges you this kind of prices, you expect that the personnel is always available and delays or misunderstandings are avoided or compensated by any means. The wine list is really poor and there is no specialized personnel to offer suggestions (the servers' opinion is not enough). During my visit except from my generic comments, the server's did not serve us wine unless we asked while the bottle was held in a refrigerator in the hall. There was not anyone that could explain the wine list. They told us that they would treat us with limoncello in the end of our dinner, but we waited 15 minutes and nothing came. The waitor was trying to convince us to order specific plates even after we had set our order. A terrible value for money restaurant. If it was re-identified as a casual Italian restaurant with at least 20% discount in its prices it would be an excellent choice!...

Overall an unpleasant experience. We ordered a pizza and a carbonara. We chose a pizza from the menu, but the waitress came back to tell us that this pizza was no longer on the menu and suggested a completely different one which had fig jam. Unfortunately, I am allergic to figs so I asked her if they can make it without the fig jam. The answer was negative. We ended up ordering a different pizza from the menu, which we were told is spicy and it ended up burning our souls out. The pizza had a very nice crust, but the inner dough was like plastelline. The carbonara was the worst we have eaten. The guanciale was burned to a crisp and the sauce had way too much raw pepper and some kind of white cream which was not from the eggs. Last but not least, despite our booking being for 2 hours, they basically made us leave in less than one hour because they constantly came by our table to pick things up, wipe it with a wet cloth, ask us if everything is ok. That's a way of telling you to leave. Important note: they didn't have people waiting to be seated and there were several empty tables.
