5 stars with all bells and whistles! What a gem!!
Located at the end of the world (almost), honestly, I didn't expect such an amazing place to eat.
Been welcomed in perfect English by the very nice staff. Led to a table with amazing view at an almost empty terrace.
Iced tea as a refreshment and Cuba Libre for to calm the mind after a wild car ride.
Cuba Libre: Caramba, difficult to find an honest mix like this outside Latin America. Thanks! Even my Latina wife said it was good! Medal number 1! Grilled Octopus: What an amazing suprise. Out of all our countless octopus dishes at various restaurants a the west coast. Those were the second best of all! Buttery soft, perfectly seasoned and carefully roasted. Kids loved them too. Very, very nice! Veggies (as a side) stayed in my memory too. Tasty! Medal numb| 2! Boiled shrimps: Also very nice! A very welcome difference to all the BBQ varieties. Super texture and flawless preparation. Worth a try! Tsigariasto: Recommendation of the chef for today, and a stunner!! In wine and oil boiled goat. Dear lord in heaven! My wife didn't like the looks... but the taste and texture compensated that with ease. Soft and tender, a delight! The meat falls off the bone and you could cut it with a spoon. Another medal, that's no. 3!
Everyone friendly and tidy. Clean and organised. Amazing view and good food. A perfect combination and a...

We reached Elafonissi quite late and didn't want to risk driving all the way back to Iraklio. At the same time, we had no idea, if staying closely for a night was an option. The nearest hotel was completely booked. That's when we saw the Panorama Tavern, it said "Rooms for rent". Honestly we had no clue what to expect. So when we were showed our rooms, we were delighted. It was a big, spotlessly clean airy room with an attached private bathroom, along with AC and Wi-Fi, cost us 55 € a night for 2 people (private parking area available).
The next day we woke up early and decided to catch sunrise from the beach. As we decided to come back from the beach, our motorbike would not start. It was a horrible situation because it started raining and the rental company in Iraklio told us, that it would take them 4 hours to get to Elafonissi. Long story short, we had lunch at the tavern, which was amazing and the staff was very friendly and kind. The Tavern owner arranged a private car for us which drove us all the way to Iraklio. We are very grateful...
Read moreIf you’re a tourist: DO NOT GO HERE! After returning from the beach exhausted, my family headed up the steps to this restaurant with a sign present at the front saying: Sit where you want! Okay will do! So we start to sit down at an (unclean) table right next to the stunning view of Elafonsi beach and get cut off by a tourist rushing to us saying “the waiter said we could have this table”. The waiter follows shortly and starts pointing to another unclean table at the back of the restaurant for us to sit. Why even have the sign? And we were already sitting down. It was ridiculous. We head to the other table and wait for it to be cleaned and the lack of service was truly astonishing. We decide to leave, and as we left, we realised we might’ve left my mum’s sunglasses on the table. So I head back up the steps to ask about them and both staff members i spoke too were completely rude and dismissive, I honestly had better service from the new group of tourists who had taken up our table when I’d asked if they’d seen them. Stuff this tourist trap. Not even...
