Kastelorizo — Restaurant in Municipality of Kifisia

We came on a Sunday noon to have lunch on the way to the airport after an exquisite 6 days in north Greece. We sat on a table in the garden, a very serious waiter without even a slight smile came and ordered starters. The waiter said we have to go in to choose the fish. I walked in and tried to talk for 10 min to the person in charge on the fish selection but he preferred he locals. Than another nervous short tempered waiter showed up and and I managed to picked a fish to be grilled. We waited around 45 min and, although guests next to us got firsts and even mains, nothing was brought to our table. I approach the waiter 3 times, explaining we need to catch a flight asking him to check our dishes. He promised everything will be out in two minutes. After 10 minutes he brought 3 salads. After another 10 minutes I asked for the bill. It didn’t arrive so I left a note if 20 and walked away. Overall we waited more than an hour for food with not even a minor apology. I never experienced such a bad and unpleasant service in Greece or anywhere else. I appreciate it was a busy hour and the restaurant was full of people but, as mentioned, people who came before us got what they ordered much before we did (or didn’t...). I usually do not review restaurants but I have to tell about this . This is really an amazing restaurant with excellent quality ,service and atmosphere. To be more particular, the food is really good ,tasty and always fresh .As for the service , they are always kind and quick.Also, they are asking you if you would like them to serve you the into ordered food into your plate. Moreover, they are notices all your discomfort and trying to fix it . The atmosphere there is peaceful with low (usually) classic music and fancy architecture. The most unexpected thing is that the next day they called us to ask if we were satisfied from them yesterday. It was the first time that happened something like that to us and we were amazed. Furthermore, unlike the most restaurants that don’t want to service at late, this restaurant don’t have this stupid excuse and will service you . Last but not least , many sea restaurants don’t have sea urchin and excuses that . However, this restaurant have sea urchin all the time...

This is a review that took me a while to consider whether to post it or not. The reason being that after being a regular custmer at several restaurants of the group as well as the one in Kifisia for many years, our last visit there last weekend was very unfortunate and disappointing... The fish we ordered a Mediterranean snapper (sinagrida) of 1.386 grams,was not fresh (bone and flesh texture not as should be). The excuse provided to us was that "...maybe it had swam in not too clean water..." when this comment is combined with the years of loyalty to the restaurant as well as the heavy price payed becomes hard to accept...pity...definitely not something expected from a restaurant of...
