Zaatar — Restaurant in Municipality of Kifisia

We ate here my mother's last night in Greece and it did not disappoint. We were greeted and welcomed when walking In the door and attended to attentively all evening. We started with the grilled cheese in the tomato jelly which was outstanding and paired beautifully together. The main courses we shared between my wife, my mother and myself were the Shrimp Liguine and the Ribeye Steak. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and had an Incredible amount of flavor and was large enough to share. The sauces it was paired with were nice as well however not necessary as the ribeye stood on its own. The Shrimp liguine had large shrimp a top a rich red sauce that complimented the flavor of the shrimp. My mother remarked that they were the best Shrimp she had while she was here. We finished with the Trio of Chocolate cremes which was rich but fluffy so it didn't overwhelm the taste buds and was sat on a gingerbread cookie. My mother also got the deconstructed baklava which was very good as well and has Incredible texture with the pastry flakes. The food was good. The service was excellent. The decoration simple and atmosphere OK. They informed us upon arrival that there would be a live singing and music show at some point over dinner, which was fine. The duo voice and piano were really good with Greek and international repertoire. I did not appreciate at all though the attitude of the lady singer who, as soon as I went to the bathroom, came to sing almost at the lap of my friend. I find this unprofessional and at the limits of insulting. If she wanted to show good spirits and engage the customers, she should have approached our table while I was there. While we were leaving, she also approached to say goodbye only to my friend, and ignored me....

Wonderful place esp during summer the garden area is fabulous but what makes this place top of course is the food! Quality and quantity in every single dish you order. We were a big group of friends and got almost everything from the menu. The meat was so tender and juicy, the risotto with mushrooms delicious, the salads eps the greens with gorgonzola were so refreshing, the fried zucchini yummy, the beef tartare and and the cheese kataifi exceptional, but the finale was even more wow with the mouthwatering sweets that we tried: baklava ice-cream, cheesecake and the highlight that I personally loved : the chocolate mousse.
