This was by far the best place to eat in all of Crete .We had driven by during sunset the day before and said "tomorrow let's go there" and I'm so glad we did!
Ambiance: the first thing you see when approaching the terrace is this beautiful outdoor seating that overlooks the mountainside. At sunset it's dramatic, the way the sun falls on the little chappel and highlights the tiny houses. The terrace itself is beautiful with amphoras and olive trees in pots. The tables and chairs are designed to give you a view of the surroundings. The wind can be quite cold after sunset so be sure to bring something warm.
Food: The BEST meal I ate in Greece. I had been craving more simple, healthy and local foods for weeks. I was able to order plain rice (that was adorned with chopped veggies of the frozen variety.) I also ordered the grilled vegetables - eggplant, zucchini, carrots and red peppers drizzled in balsamic glaze. Everything was hot, fresh and sat well with me. They were careful about my food allergy and all was fine.
Service: Thank you to Fenia, who was a pleasant and helpful waitress. She was so careful about my allergy, which I appreciated. She made us feel welcome with her warmth and knowledge.

Read moreWe randomly stopped here on our way home from Elafonisi beach, and we are SO glad. This ended up being our favorite meal of the entire trip. We had lamb chops, stuffed Zuchinni blossoms + grape leaves, and finished with orange pie + ice cream. All of the food was authentic Greek, freshly made, and just really darn good! The service was also so warm and welcoming. They really love their restaurant, and it shows. Well it turned out that it is a family owned and ran business. It was so nice to see the love they had for each other and their family’s business. It was a true testament of Greek culture and I felt really lucky to get to have a taste of it. In closing, come here for an incredible meal with a view of the entire valley. You will be so...
Read moreThis was our favourite restaurant during a family holiday! We loved it so much the first time we came back again. All five of us thought the food was delicious, there’s lots of choice for diners with plenty of vegetarian options too. I had the moussaka on my first and goat stifado on the second, both were very tasty and so were the Greek sausage, zucchini balls and Cretan salad. The setting is beautiful with mountain views and what makes it even better is the staff are so nice and friendly. We felt so welcome and loved the honey raki at the end of the meal. Thanks too to Yorgos for looking after us and for the great beach recommendation, we went to today and thought it was fantastic. We will be back next time we visit...
