Mama's Dinner Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Kissamos

We stopped for a fine dining experience on our way back from Balos beach. The setting is gorgeous, very warm and romantic for couples. We got grilled squid, avocado salad, seafood linguine and grilled lamb, all vegetables are very fresh, and the lamb was slow cooked in 65 degrees for 12 hrs, I like it as a non-lamb meager while my husband said it's not flavorful enough, the seafood linguine is very well made, only thing is the shrimp and mussels are frozen, which the waiters already mentioned when we made our order, so it was expected, hence I thought it was actually very good. I like their Greek wine selection, would recommend here if you like a good glass of wine and want to hear more from their recommendations. When we visit Greece we always appreciate the rare efforts to provide a restaurant that stress away from the beaten path of the traditional taverna with the immutable menu filled of uninventive moussakas, gyros and kleftikos. This place tries to offer a more refined experience, and even though I want completely convinced by the result food-wise, I'm still happy it exists. We liked our starters, particularly the Cretan tart (the moussaka rolls were interesting but a little dry). The risotto was good but a little on the salty side, whereas the sous-vide picanha ended up being nothing to write home about.
