Taverna Mouraki — Restaurant in Municipality of Kissamos

Reading the other reviews, we seem to have had really bad luck. We have already had to wait 40 minutes for a drink, were first not served, then it took very long on such a hot day. I even asked several times. The food was on the table after a 1:20 hour wait and was completely disappointing. We had ordered the mixed meat platter and the chicken fillet. On both plates, the meat was absolutely dry, some of it already cold upon arrival. On the mixed meat platter, one piece was completely burnt, other pieces were overly done and gristly. We still tried to compensate for the dryness of the meat with tzatziki, but ultimately failed and returned the main dishes. The ambiance was good with views of the Falasarna coast, but unfortunately not enough for a better rating. This dinner was the worst we have had (in parts) in a long time. I am glad that (probably) the shift manager or the only one with an overview took back the dishes without complaint. But otherwise I have never been so ignored in a restaurant. Too bad about the processed animal...

Ill make this easy: the view is as good as the food. Honestly this place deserves a 4.8 or higher. We are a party of 12, 6 adults, arrived around 8pm just before sunset. Everyone ordered a different dish and everyone said it was fantastic. All the meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly, the salads amazing. All locally sourced (just look out the window and you'll see the greenhouses, gardens and ocean). Portions are huge but prices are not, ie the mixed grill for 1 was 15 euro, but back in Canada would go for $30-$40 and feed 2 people. Staff were very friendly and professional. We came here in 2019 and now we're back, but we'll be back again everytime we go to falassarna we will stop. The best place around for really authentic Cretan food. Very beautiful taverna in falassarna area, this place has a magical view of the falassarna bay and is a great place to have dinner with sunset ! The food was excellent! Spot on for everything, we had the opportunity to try o la few dishes but all of them were delicious tzatziki seasonal boiled erbs lamb meatballs moussaka grilled sea bass The only thing I didn’t like is that they brought everything when it was ready, even tho we clarified we wanted different courses. So we couldn’t really fully enjoy the food as we had to rush to eat all dishes if not they would get could.

But anyway the food was good and we had an amazing night !
