GG Villas Falassarna — Hotel in Municipality of Kissamos

Host: The host is very kind and attentive. The communication was as smooth as it gets, he was waiting in front of the villa when we arrived, and briefly explained everything. He also handed over a list of important information in writing (nearest pharmacy/grocery/restaurants, contacts to local medical center and the doctor, as well as some basic instructions regarding the accommodation). Room keeping/cleaning was offered (optional). It was very kind to see he is not rushing us to leave the villa early in the morning on departure day, so we could leave just in time to catch our flight back home. A really nice touch was a lot of basic groceries prepared for us in the kitchen upon arrival, including some local wines, fruit, olive oil, etc. We've been given a very nice "good bye" presents, what a pleasant surprise, THANK YOU so much!

Accommodation: The villa is located on a hillside (the last 100 meters of driveway is quite steep), so renting a car is strongly recommended.

Rooms: The villa and all its surroundings are brand new (2023 is the first season according to the host). All very clean, spacious (we've been 4 adults using 2 bedrooms on the upper floor), there is one more bedroom for two more adults on the ground floor. Each room has its own bathroom. Mattress was very comfortable, more on the stiffer side (which we prefer). A/C is placed very sensible above the room entrance, so it is not pointed at the bed directly. There are mosquito nets available in each room. You can find complete set of toiletries in the bathroom. There's washing machine, vacuum cleaner, and iron available in the villa.

Kitchen: In the kitchen you can find a toaster, coffee machine (uses capsules) or another one for filtered coffee/tea. The kitchen is fully equipped, ready for any type of cooking. There's an oven and a glass ceramic hob available and of course a big fridge with high capacity freezer. No dish washer.

Exterior: The area is quiet, some construction work could be heard from time-to-time, but very subtle, not disturbing at all. Neighboring villa is placed in a good distance, separated with a fence and small trees. Our villa was also slightly elevated compared to the other, so visually we were completely separated from the other guests. The pool was very clean, warm (end of August, we do not know if there is heating available when the weather is colder outside), a shower is available near the pool. There is a grill (uses gas) available on the back yard.

Shoping: Groceries: In Platanos you can find some small-size supermarkets (all within 5 minutes by car), there's one bigger supermarket in Kissamos (10-15 minutes by car). Bakery: Bakery Coffee Boulangerie (Tsatsaronakis Michalis) - good coffee, fresh pastries, bread, cakes, pizza, croissants, etc., very tasty

Recommended trips: Falassarna beach is the closest beach, very nice, although a bit crowded, you can get there in 5 minutes by car. If if could put zero stars i would. Do not trust this owner. We made a booking for 6 nights for August 2024 - the reservation of the house was done in March through a well known reservation site; and we fully paid our trip mid-July a few weeks before arriving. 5 days before our arrival the host called to let us know there had been "an issue with the booking system and we were double booked on the house so he could no longer host us". Bear in mind we are traveling to Crete with 2 kids and a 1 year old baby. His solution was to put us up in another of his houses "for no extra charge". What a joke, the other house was absolutely not the same quality of place, hideous looking house, and when comparing prices online, this 2nd house was 30% cheaper. Amazing villa, such a privacy ( feels like actually the best compared to other villas in neighbourhood). But what a view! Breathtaking! Very modern, equipped,everything you need for cooking(exept microwave). Welcome food and wine🧡 very good for kids, safe inside and outside the house. just few minutes to the beautiful sandy beach (or tiny pinky which is perfect for small children). Car is a must be.
