Giasemí — Restaurant in Municipality of Malevizi

Drove to the lovely village of Fodele on purpose from the beach to have diner at Giasemi and it was worth every inch of the trip. Sitting in the middle of the village, you immediately feel the Mediterranean lifestyle all around: kids playing in the river, parents preparing diner on the terrace, old ladies quietly chatting while sitting next to their sales wear at the side of the street. Nobody seems to be in a hurry. Our food was served swiftly nonetheless, starting with tzatziki , dolmades and Greek salad. Meanwhile the local owner took the time to gently roast our souvlaki on a coal fire in plain sight. The food was delicious: simple local ingredients but all of high quality and really tasteful. As cherry on the cake we got some local sweet as desert and a shot of orange infused tsikoudia from the owners. Don’t expect big luxury - a visit to the clean gents will provide for a trip down memory lane - but the authenticity and hospitality are priceless. Hands down the best meal I have ever had, we ordered a bit of everything and literally nothing disappinted, we started with salad, some feta cheese, tzatziky, dolmadaki, mix grill sorry if I misspelled not of greek origins. They are a family business and that makes the experience that greater respect to them for that. The staff was fun to have a chat with them ,they were funny whilst also beying extremely professional , greeted with a smile from start to finish. After the meal they brought some desert and some racki with honey, one of the finest hard drinks I have had you did not even feel the alcohol, it was that good . The deserts consisted of some lavacake with ice cream on the side, cheesecake with lime, as well a orange jelly on top of some home made soft cake, one final mention is that the desert was made with honey not sugar. Such an amazing experience. We are a group of 8 from the USA. We came to Greece to celebrate a loved one’s birthday. Though we staying in local all-inclusive resort, we wanted to have our birthday day dinner off site at a local resteraunt. Some of the staff at the resort we are staying at recommended Taverna Giasemi in Fodele Village. We are so glad they did.

The food and service were absolutely amazing. The owner of this charming little Taverna went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. She and her staff made our birthday girl’s evening a complete success.

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone e who is looking for an authentic Greek dining experience with out all of the tourist trap prices or quality. The food was top notch, the service was outstanding and our experience was perfect. Thank you so much...
