Average experience. I ordered one main dish and just asked for the included side salad without tomatoes. Instead, I got a full Greek salad on top. Bread was served without asking and added to the bill, even though I can’t eat gluten. (And saying I did eat one of them is shameless lying - I am not risking my health with your bread as a gluten intolerant person!!!). The waiter seemed rather uninterested. It's not my job as a guest to know if you serve me the included side or anything slightly bigger that you want to double your profit with. Just serve what is ordered and don´t scam visitors. Overall, it felt a bit careless and more focused on upselling than on the guest. edit: decreased again by another star because of the shameless lying that I would steal their bread. crazy...

Gorgeous little Taverna right on the beach. On our last evening we strayed from the restaurants of Fodele Beach Hotel and has a lovely meal here. We don't speak much Greek and the gentleman who served us didn't speak much English but he was lovely and very attentive. The food was gorgeous. I had the pork belly which was so tasty and tender and my partner raved about the Gyros. My little lad ate almost all of the Schiztnel, it was a very generous portion! The desserts he brought out were every bit as delicious at the mains, a selection of three traditional puddings which me and my partner were fighting over. If we visit Fodele again we will definitely be back...

The food was excellent – the lamb chops were cooked perfectly, and the aubergine salad was one of the best we’ve had in Crete. Everything feels fresh and homemade.

It’s family-run, with a very friendly atmosphere that makes you feel welcome right away. The place is quiet and never overcrowded, which is such a bonus. You can also get sunbeds here, and since the beach is wide and sandy, it’s easy to find a peaceful spot to relax after your meal.

Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food and a laid-back...
