My wife and I had dinner here twice during our stay on Naxos. The food is excellent, it's situated in a lovely spot next to the beach. It's certainly well priced and their house wine ( white) is more than acceptable. Though on both occasions when asking for the bill (I offered to pay cash) the response from the waiter was whether it was ok (i.e. if the remaining amount would be a tip). Tipping, especially when to tip and when not to is quite personal, although there is certainly a cultural dimension too. It always reminds me of the movie "Reservoir Dogs" where Mr. Pink is principally against tipping, he argues his case quite nicely, but in the end is forced to tip. Unlike Mr Pink, I'm not against tipping. The choice, however, whether to tip or not should always be with the customer. One final thing: when going to the gents, it would be great if the lock had a key so it could actually be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were a group of two adults and three children with a reservation at 20:00. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.
We never received a menu and had to fetch it ourselves.
By 20:45 nobody had taken our order or even offered us drinks.
At 21:15, with very hungry children, our food finally arrived.
The food itself was average at best ā honestly the least enjoyable meal I had during 10 days in Naxos.
Service was careless: they forgot the still water we ordered and also a refill of the (excellent) red wine.
When it came time to pay, we discovered you had to go inside. Nobody informed us, and we couldnāt find a waiter willing to help.
Overall, poor service, long waiting times, and disappointing food quality. The wine was the only highlight, but sadly not enough to make up for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOur first holiday here in Naxos, and our forth visit to Paradise tavern. Tonight was our last evening and our usual waitress Anna Marie was lovely. We have no complaints about the food although tonight something was forgotten on our order. The main problem tonight was two waiters brought our starters and unfortunately the red wine one of them was carrying was dropped and ended up on my new linen trousers and new tee shirt. Both are now unwearable. The waiter concerned was very embarrassed and apologised profusely. My trousers and T-shirt are ruined and I took it quite well as it was accident. I did find it strange that no apology or discount was offered from management when we got the full bill, thatās why Iām giving a bad...
