Delightful discovery. Extensive menu of the best of Greek food, but all we wanted was a starter followed by fresh fish. We weren't keen on the music playing in the background, and nearly decided to try somewhere else. Glad we stayed. We were given an amuse-bouche of an olive tapenade dip and some soused anchovies with our bread. Heavenly! The friendly waiter had suggested "zucchini balls" (κολοκυθοκεφτέδες) to start. A huge plateful of shredded courgettes bound with local cheese into five patty cakes and fried, served with a dill yoghurt dip. (My partner had already taken one from the plate before I took the photo). Delicious. Main course: red snapper (more than big enough for two) with a selection of grilled?/?roasted vegetables, and a simple but tasty potato salad. The waiter expertly took the fillets off the bone in front of us - almost as enjoyable to watch as the food was divine to eat. Replete, we asked for the bill. This arrived with a (free) selection of little orange cakes drizzled with a little chocolate as well as a small bottle of liqueur digestif. Yum.

Probably the best food we had during our stay. Everything is locally sourced and made with care, which might explain the slightly higher prices compared to other places, but it was absolutely worth it. It genuinely felt like eating at my grandparents’ home — rich, raw flavours that were just so delicious. I couldn’t get enough. I had the fresh grilled sea bass almost every time we went, always served with salad and fries. Every bite was a delight. For a group of four, we paid around €85–100 and always left full and happy. The homemade white wine was another highlight. So tasty and only €11 per litre. We were sad we couldn’t take any with us, since it’s made especially for the restaurant. Big thanks to the staff for making our time there so enjoyable. We only got Evi’s name, but the whole team deserves a shoutout. ❤️

We had dinner at Apolafsi Restaurant in Naxos, just round the corner from our villa, and it was excellent. A small, taverna with a wood-fired oven and a relaxed, authentic vibe. The Briam was quite possibly the best we’ve had in Greece, cooked perfectly, with olive oil so fresh and light that it added flavour without feeling oily, a real sign of quality. We also had fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic, creamy fava with hot pita, wine-braised mushrooms, and fried potatoes. Simple, homemade food done properly and served by the friendly staff. Highly recommend.

I always like to go to places that serve only authentic and simple Greek cuisine. I have very severe food allergies and I am extremely cautious around all my dining experiences and I always try to choose a place with the best food if I am going to risk anything! All of their shared portions for the table are extremely excellent. I would recommend fish/seafood over the lamb or goat here though! I could tell their seafood was amazing based on the octopus. Cooked excellently and tender with no fishy taste! Also it helps if you speak Greek, the servers appreciated me stumbling through the language of my father, and were very kind to help me make sure I was ordering just the right amount of food for 4 people! If you’re looking for authentic and delicious Greek cuisine this is a wonderful spot. Also the χωριάτικη σαλάτα with the local soft cheese was τέλια!!...
