Naxos Summerland resort — Hotel in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

After our first introduction to this brilliant complex in autumn 2022, we travelled again to Summerland in Kastraki (Naxos Island) for 10 days this year.|You would almost think that it could only come across less well, but nothing could be further from the truth. Once again, we have a unique stay at Summerland. We are a little earlier in the year than last year, but the extreme tranquillity still exists here, while it is noticeably busy in and around the capital, but also at other tourist places (Chalkio, Filoti, Apeirantos), much busier than before the corona time (we have been coming to the island every year for more than 25 years, and always roughly in the same period.)|The booking is personal, very efficient and clear. And we see the result when we arrive: we are welcomed with open arms, our beautiful apartment is ready and again we can park the car in an alternative location: I have exceptional mobility problems.|And then the experience of our stay: The location of Summerland is perfect and unique if you want to explore the island. But going to Chora, the capital, is no problem at all. Kastraki has extreme, spacious, quiet, clean beaches and here and there (excellent) shops and catering establishments. But we prefer the options at Summerland. The breakfast is richly supplied with delicacies and is always well replenished. We also enjoy dinner in the beautiful outdoor restaurant, where breakfast is also served and you can use the bar facilities.|The complex is spacious and that greatly benefits the relaxing experience. There are two swimming pools: more than enough space for guests. And don't forget: the beach is just a few minutes' walk away!|We'll look a little further. Our apartment (no. 3) is on the ground floor (this is essential because of my walking problems). Wonderfully spacious. Comfortable. Equipped with everything you need. Nicely decorated, with air conditioning (we open the windows, you don't hear anything outside), nice spacious bathroom, and, essential for us, perfect internet.|But best of all: the incredibly friendly, open, personal, constructive, helpful and last but not least humorous contacts with Jannis, Maria and Zefi: super sweet people.|If our health allows it, they may welcome us here again next year. After the Corona time, we decided to travel to Greece by car in September to pick up 'normal' life again. However, we start booking hotels and rooms much too late. The hotel where we usually stay on the island of Naxos is fully booked. And yet we want to go to Naxos. I have difficulty walking and therefore have quite a few wishes. After digging around on the internet we find Summerland Holiday's Resort in Kastraki. That looks good. Mail contact with Mrs. Maria is fast, effective, clear and friendly. That starts very positively! And it turns out, when we arrive here, to put it mildly: we obviously don't know each other, but we immediately get all the help that is needed, and more, because of my mobility problem. And this is how it will continue to be during our stay here: extremely caring, effective, high quality, very personal. We get apartment 3: very nice, very spacious, creatively furnished, wonderful beds, excellent bathroom and a very nice terrace where I do my work in the morning before breakfast and later in the afternoon and/or evening behind the PC. Summerland consists of a number of rooms and apartments, built quite elongated around a magnificent site with two swimming pools. The whole looks very neat. On one side of the complex, you will find the building with the reception, on the other side, at the second pool, restaurant and bar. There are beautiful plants around the site and very atmospheric lighting is switched on when it is dark. At the beginning of the evening, we like to move to the bar to drink a delicious glass of wine. Friendly, effective and personal are the keywords here too. And the same goes for breakfast and dinner. We have decided to dine here every evening of our stay and what they make here again and again: it looks very well cared for and it tastes perfect. Breakfast is an absolutely top-score-story. Very lavishly set up with daily changes, fresh, tasteful, beautiful put in a buffet-form. ||In summary: a very high quality of products, services and personal contact with the guests.||Conclusion: we have found a location where we will...

the price-quality ratio is catastrophic. The pictures show that each accommodation has its own pool, which is not true. There are several swimming pools and all three are dirty and are refilled every evening with an ordinary garden hose. The rooms are small and it is very possible that the owner will transfer you from room to room during your stay because he has made a mistake in the description of some rooms or has assigned them to someone else. Accommodation is cheap, beds are dirty. Everything is old and everything has been worn. The breakfast is disastrous and nothing is fresh except the scrambled eggs that are available for 20% of the guests, while the rest have to beg the waiter to get their portion. Everything that is not eaten today will be waiting for guests tomorrow. The host is very nice, but that's just the way he deceives the guests, as soon as you tell him that something doesn't suit you, he yells, threatens to throw you out and call the police. All in all, my family and I will not come to this accommodation again, and because of the trauma from the host who yelled at my sister and mother, I would not recommend...
