Danaos & Anastasis — Restaurant in Municipality of Nemea

We went on a Saturday afternoon during wine festival. As there was no other place to eat on the main road. We were seated along the footpath away crom the restaurant, next to stacked chairs, waited 30 min for a menu & a further 15 mins for our food of roast pork, which is already cooked & we got the last serve at 3:30pm. We asked for 1/2 kg of roast & we got 1kg. I didn’t notice the difference as there was potatoes mixed in, so when we got charged for 1 kg I questioned it. The cook came out quite aggressively & said, I gave you 1 kg, but i said i asked for 500g for 2 people. He said, you ate it so you pay for it. How bloody rude. He decided what we should eat & he charged us for it cos we were the last customers & got the scraps anyway. Very annoyed. Extremely bad service & average food. One waiter served over 60-80 people. You would think the owner would be prepared for this event,...

Absolutely first rate. We read the reviews on Trip Advisor raving about this restaurant so we were expecting a good meal but it was SO VERY GOOD. Beginning with a delicious dip served with garlic bread, then on to a wonderful salad with arugula, pomegranates, walnuts and shaved Parmesan. Also, a grilled eggplant with tomato sauce (or get this), grilled chicken and pork. While we were eating, five or six locals came in for take-out because they know good food. And the service was terrific. The owner took the time to list the ingredients ( and even fetch them from the kitchen to show me when he didn’t know the word in...

We were travelling through the Peloponnese and strayed 2 days in Nemea to visit the famous Wineries. Both evenings we dined at Danaous & Anastasis. The food was absolutely incredible....fresh homemade cooked with passion & love. We hade the chicken & potatoes in the oven that was next to none! The next evening we had the most amazing veal & Linguine in red tomato sauce that I wished I had the recipe for. You are served with love & the people are warm and welcoming. I wish they were in my corner of the world....Montréal, because I would be there all the time! Ευχαριστώ πάρα πολύ... Όλα ήτανε...
