If I could give no stars I would! Three times we visited this restaurant and on every occasion the staff were rude and very unwelcoming, on our first visit we turned up without a reservation and understandably they could not accommodate us due to the fact the weather was bad and all tables were being moved inside, leaving no spare tables, however, the way we were spoken to was as if we were an inconvenience to them! However we gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking that they were really busy due to the table changes and were therefore distracted, we returned for a second attempt, again with no reservation, again staff were very abrupt with us, saying that no reservation no table, so we went ahead and booked for the following evening, today. Upon arrival we were seated by a miserable male waiter, no pleasant welcome, just handed us the menu and walked away, another male waiter arrived and took our drinks order, again no pleasantries, not even a smile, we gave our drinks order and said we were ready to order our food, we were told that someone else would be over to take our food order. We waited 20 minutes and still no waiter arrived, during this time we watched other guests arrive, being treated with smiling faces and hand shakes, guests that had clearly been before, being seated and having the menu explained to them and recommendations of what to order, none of which was offered to us. After waiting for over 20 minutes and being completely ignored and looked upon as an inconvenience we got up and left the restaurant! We went to the restaurant next door, Corfu seaside restaurant, oh what a difference, very accommodating, friendly staff, same excellent views, with amazing food! I would avoid Cavo Barbaro and go straight to Corfu...

The view is delicious, the garden is beautiful. You open up the menu and you start starving, no matter what. I was there a week ago. My friends and I ordered our food. In Greece, waiters sometimes bring you water or sweets to the table. This time, they came with seven wasps; seven wasps that could not be cast off. Our food looked good and so thought the insects, but, unlike them, I didn't have the chance to taste it. This review should have been more authentically written by them. Even though it was obvious we needed a reservation for ten guests, as the wasps just could not have enough, the waiters took 10-15 minutes to do something about it - unsuccessful, though. It would have been an awesome idea that we were told wasps love what we ordered before we actually ordered, not after. :) Not only were we afraid not to swallow a wasp, but one of them actually cut a small part of sliced meat and flew away. Please visualize that!

In a more serious tone, I am truly sorry for my rating, but being able to eat and having good hygiene...

I’ve been coming to Corfu for 20 years and I have never refused to eat in a restaurant. The people here were rude and insulting and did not give us a warm welcome at all.

Everything I said or did received a really unnecessary comment, such as me being ‘English’ (I’m not English), or my partner getting a chair for herself (weird comment). We were a little young for the demographic and we suspect that this was part of the hostility. When I asked for the bill after 2 quick drinks, someone made a comment about us wanting a snack bar…

We ended up going to the Old School in Kassiopi for an amazing meal and an even warmer welcome (take my money!). It’s very simple, welcome your guests like it’s a privilege to have them choose you, not the other way around…

Oh, and just for fun, they do that thing where they will keep the best tables reserved for larger parties. I would pick a snack bar over these guys any day...

Cavo Barbaro is consistently a restaurant with the most delicious food and excellent service from the lovely Francesca and charming Nicos to mention just two. You sit almost at the edge of the shore in this pebbly bay overlooking the pier and look out to the mountains of Albania. It is the place we wanted to return to again and and again for the fresh anchovies, Grandma Stella's Aubergine, grilled huge prawns with aioli and the Greek plate selection of pork and chicken kebabs, tsatziki and a burger. The chips are the best we have had not just in Corfu, not just in Greece but in the world! We often drank the house white served in copper jugs which is locally made and surprisingly good. And we loved the local kitties and the staff's tolerance of the animals rehoming some abandoned puppies. Memories of the three times we ate at Cavo Barbaro in a week are of a wonderful place and people with outstanding food.

The whole thing was great. The waiters were very kind and patient, as well as respectful. The food was also very quick to arrive, thought it can get quite crowded, so maybe you ought to consider making a reservation if you're coming on a weekend, and the waiting times for food may be longer. Still, none of that was an issue, the food delicious and filling while still being cheaper than most touristy restaurants in corfu. The views were absolutely marvellous as well, and the beach being as non-crowded as this one is you don't need to walk more than fifty metres from the restaurant to find a good spot in the rocks. I would also recommend trying the baklava, which for 6€ is a great example of this traditional dessert, thought it can be quite filling so make sure to share!

We walked from Imerolia through the vineyard pathways to revisit this lovely taverna after a memorable stop for a moussaka there last year. We hadn't stoppef talking about it. The staff were charming, helpful and really efficient, keeping us a table whilst I had a swim and booking us a taxi for our return to Imerolia. Nothing was too much trouble, the views breathtaking with a lovely breeze from the sea. And then the food: huge, delicious, fresh mussels in garlic, wine & parsley for starters & then the legendary moussaka - simply the best you'll taste. Go there - by foot, car or taxi. It's worth it! We will be back.
