Great family owned business. Every time going there was like meeting good friends - always welcomed and friendly served. Regarding prices - we didn't feel that it was more expensive than on average around Corfu. Even if it was, it was worth every single cent as we had the most delicious food here throughout our 2 week stay in Corfu. Food is definitely the best in the area.
Seafood is highly recommended at George's - best calamari in Corfu, always fresh, soft, great fry and not greasy. Pasta is great if you don't mind tuna in sea food pasta, other dishes are great as well. Corfu specialties are also worth to mention. The only dish we didn't really like 100%, was chicken souvlaki as it was dry. But souvlaki is not something to have at George's at my opinion - there are so many other great dishes! Grilled fresh fish was also great!
They also have the most delicious Greek beer - Corfu beer. House wine is cheap (3EUR(?) - 0,5L) and tasty.
Thank you, George family for making our Corfu experience...
Read moreThe ONE AND ONLY restaurant in Corfu I'm strongy don't recommend you(so far far 2 last years of vacation we tried almost all)! The stuff (or I suppose the owner)is so rude at that place!!Despite waiting for table and starvation, we left as fast as possible. In the place, like Acharavi, there is so much concurrent and big and great variety of restaurants. We alway were treated nice and tipped generous. It is we way you wont to feel on your vacation:WELCOME. So we were actually shocked without any reason to experience this kind of rudeness...:(
Don't mention how rude they are with helpless stray animals! The waiter was so unnecessary rude with abandoned dog, I won't describe this scene to avoid hurting your feelings.
So don't waste your time and money on that ! Less the 100 meters away there is a wonderful place Taverna Petra with beautiful view on the beach, much bigger menu ,WiFi ,NICE and FRIENDLY crew. They really saved our evening after so ugly social interaction...
Read moreLate April, midweek lunchtime visit just two days after the season's opening so wonderfully quiet.
It's been ten years since our last visit but if anything the food is even better. Certainly the best meal we have had in ten days. We were hungry and there was no time to take photos before diving in but trust us the food is grest. For starters we chose deliciously light corgette balls, stuffed slices of aubergine served in a rich tomatoes sauce and some feta baked in a garlicky olive oil. Oh and of course, hand cut chips which, as always in Corfu, were super. The three of us then shared a large plate of fisherman's spaghetti. Yum!
In terms of wine, the retsina was the restuarants own and delicious. The place is very, very clean and the service as a supplied by George and his young understudy...
