One star but only because of my partner being there and entertaining me and being good company. 0 for food. It is actually hands down worst we have EVER had. We could hear the microwave ping twice. Do not visit off season! Nothing fresh it was microwaved. The food came out the kitchen and the waiter (owner) was the only staff until his elderly dad helped fry the chips or what ever minion he had, on the back of the kitchen. We had the oven feta (it was pre made and microwaved), the cheese pie (no taste and like scrabble egg baked ? Not sure if cheese was in the mix). I had the Mussaca and he had safrido (both the recommendation of the owner) both not fresh (had been frozen) See pictures. Messy and tasteless. Also other guests smoking inside - I did notice ash trays on the tables. Decor was ok. You can see they probably do better on-peak. The wine was fine. Red medium house wine. Service was prompt but then we were the first to arrive. And on leaving only 6 guests without us.
Actually feeling sickly now after we have left (1hour since meal). Not impressed, I would never come back! By the way we did pay the €30 - we did not moan to the owner as we felt embarrassed for him, we promptly left. We did eat most of it. We had hiked 22 miles today and...
Read moreBeware the 'cod and pasta'. My least favourite dining experience whilst in Corfu. To be fair not all the fault of the restaurant. Only 2 staff working, 1 serving the other cooking. Our waiter didn't seem the happiest of people and was distracted when a group of family or friends turned up and he couldn't give his full attention to either them or customers. I chose 'cod with garlic pasta'. The waiter said it wasn't pasta but potato, however with pasta in my head I thought maybe gnocchi. When the dish arrived it was a cod in batter with mashed potato. On tasting, the mash was fridge cold but burnt my tongue due to to the amount of raw garlic involved. My partner had chicken kebab skewer, nice enough but only 5 small pieces of chicken. Overall not good value for money. On plus side, seating is on veranda overlooking well...
Read moreWe visited here on a weekday during October as it seemed to have good reviews. The positives: quick service and nice medium house red wine. The traditional sofrito had good flavours. The negatives: food didn't seem fresh, was microwaved, and the aubergine balls were probably frozen rather than fresh, the fried squid was chewy and the batter was stodgy. The chips were also quite soggy. it was cheaper than some other tavernas, but considering the quality of the food, it wasn't really value for money. Unfortunately, It's not somewhere I'd go back to...
